An Unforgettable Memory SECOND PLACE

“B, D, A…” I focused on my silent moving fingers, trying my best to memorize the music notes for the performance piece. I was in a violin competition, and it would be my turn to perform soon.
Suddenly, “creak...” the string cracked and flew off from my bow! Hairs of the string fluttered in the air. I was shocked and frozen like a statue because I was the next to get on stage! Without a bow, how could I play the violin?
When my eyes were swimming with tears the boy sitting behind me tapped my shoulder softly and said, “Don’t worry, you may use my bow to perform first.” The girl next to me also cheered me up from the incident. I heard my name was called when I thanked them, so I took a deep breath and stepped up calmly with the borrowed bow. I played very well and the hall was filled with claps.
It was a very valuable experience for me, not only because I won the competition finally, but also learnt the importance of generous help to the others.

“Winning is not everything, but the effort to win is,” Mrs Lam always says. I didn’t quite understand the meaning of this sentence before. With the experience that I totally understood.
I am a horn player, and my teacher always encourages me to join different music competitions in order to gain more experience. I joined the 13th Zhongsin International Music Competition (China Hong Kong region) in November. I was so scared and performed not very well on stage on that day. But still luckily, I got the third prize, which means I could still get the entry ticket of the final round of the competition. I was so pleased and swore to do my best.
The final round of the competition was held in Singapore on the twenty-ninth of January 2019. I prepared a new piece: Mozart Horn Concerto for the competition. It was a great challenge for me. I practiced hard every day. My whole family and my horn teacher accompanied me during the trip. I was not as scared as last time anymore. I performed with confident on stage.
Everyone was excited in the Award Ceremony. I got the second prize finally. With the support of my family and teachers, the effort that I made, it became a giant step of my music journey. It was not only an unforgettable memory, but also a valuable one.

My Dream School MERIT

My dream school is called Mainalien Milton School, which is on Miltondreammain Road. I built it last Wednesday, and all of the students and teachers are aliens. It has thirty-six floors, even higher than you can imagine.
Why has it so many floors? It is because it has a lot of functional rooms, such as the indoor farm, the sports center, the hostel etc, so the alien students can learn about animals, plants, sport or what they want to learn. I think this school is very free and it is the students’ choice to learn anything.
For the hostel, aliens from different planets can have a different design, so we can sleep there and also learn about design in the hostel. For the extra-curricular activities, we can learn about languages, including the languages of the aliens, so when the students are older, they can go to different planets to talk with the aliens.
This school is a private school, but the school fee is free because the rich people donated a lot of money to the principal. Can you guess who is the principal of this school?

Although my home is small,

Mother can make a good deal in the wet market without a knife,
Studying in kindergarten,
Little sister loves playing with other children.
I will be sad and cry,
But my tear will dry
because my parents make me laugh out loud,
They blow away the sad clouds.
My sister and I are their treasure,

My dream school is under the sa. We can go to school by “submarcar”. My “submarcar” can go on the ground and under the sea. That’s why I called it “submarcar”. My dream school is enormous and round like a crystal ball.
My dream school has a lot of facilities. There are ten football pitches, five basketball courts and five tennis courts so we can play sports whenever we like. There are a lot of different rooms such as cooking room, sea learning room, photography room and medel-making room. It’s amazing!
We have a lot of interesting lessons dreams go too! We can have the lessons we like. We have treasure hunt in the lessons. How much treasure we can find, how much treasure we bring back home. We have white water rafting lessons. It’s exciting! We have sea learning lessons. We can swim with different sea animals such as octopus, dolphins, sea turtles and whales. There is the science lab. We will make scary experiments there. How weird it is!
My dream school is a fantastic place. We are playing when we are learning.

My Magic Finger MERIT

I had a magic finger. One say, when I was doing homework, I heard thunder roaring onside in the sky. I was curious and looked out at though the window. I saw lightning and pointed at it. Suddenly, I felt like getting shocked. Then, I returned to the desk and did my remaining homework.
After doing homework, I saw the new model of Beyblade on the television, I felt very excited. I pointed at it and said, “I pulled at it Beyblade! Suddenly, a real Beyblade appeared in front of me. I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was even rotating on the floor by itself!
I suspected I had a magic finger. So, I pointed at the “Plants Versus Zombies” book and said, I want a peashooter! It suddenly sat next to me! I felt is extremely happy because I could turn anything into whatever I want! I immediately pointed my finger at the toy velociraptor and said, “ I want real velociraptor!” In one second, a velociraptor as tall as me appeared in the dinning room, ready to swoop on me. I at shouted, “listen to me!” it then sat down and was no longer fierce at all. I jumped onto its back and pointed at the beyblade. I said, “I want all models of beyblade! I also want all models of pony for my sister, Athena.” All these became true. I then played beyblades with the velociraptor and peashooter in my room.
At 7:00 pm, my parents and Athena returned home. They were shocked when they opened the door of my bedroom. They gave a yell when they saw the velociraptor. I told them I had a magic finger and they needed not worry as the velociraptor was under my control. I then showed to them my magic power by turning a ten-dollar note into one hundred thousand-dollar notes. I also showed the twenty-five ponies to Athena. They were all very happy. That night, I turned a lot of toy jewellery into real ones and gave them to mum.
The next morning when I got up, I found all except the first Beyblade bad gone! I was very unhappy. My parents comforted me and said, “Maybe you can have your magic finger again when there is lightning next time!”
