A Joy Ride SECOND PLACE
Matthew Lam 4A
Splash splosh! Splash Splosh!
I swam in the stream.
My friends were a fish, a frog and a shrimp.
We were playing as a team.
We didn’t care who is going to win.
Fly! Fly! Fly!
I flew up high in the sky.
The cottage was now smaller than a dice.
Do you know the reason why?
You better ask Mr. Sunshine.
Float! Float! Float!
I met my friend Joy and Nicole.
And a new friend called rainbow.
Gathered together, we shaped like a goat.
Later, we became a boat.
Drip Drop! Drip Drop!
I fell down on the head of my old friend frog.
I shared my story on the lotus’s top.
My joy ride will start again when the sun is hot.
So, who am I?

I'm a Detective, Scream RAM! THIRD PLACE
Oscar Chan 4B
I’m a fearsome little boy
Who spread love with joy.
I am a fierce growling bear!
I can be as tiny as a streak of hair!
I catch robbers and thieves
And examine the leaves.
I dust for fingerprints
And search for footprints.
I’m small, but I think big,
Looking for someone where wearing a wig.
I always creep into places
With police wearing micro-laces.
I am not scared of the dark.
When going in, I’m not going to bark,
Sometimes, I dress in blue,
Creep in the house and search for a clue.
After the case I always get a reward
A world trip with the chief police who was already on board.
Guess who I am?
I’m a detective, scream RAM!!

Beauty of Nature MERIT
Hui Ka Hei 4A
I love seeing the nature.
Holding the plants’ leaves,
Is like touching my pillows,
Feeling the wind’s breeze,
Is more than eating marshmallows?
Mountains stand firm like Greek warriors,
Amazing waterfalls flows into rivers,
From rivers to wonderful lakes
And out into the deep blue sea.
Look up into the no ending sky,
Sometimes dark, sometimes bright
Where free birds happily fly,
And twinkling stars at night.
Hold onto the trees’ steady branches
Like playing monkeys that cling.
Stare closer to the dancing grasses
Seems like waving goodbyes.
How wonderful our nature is,
Abundant, endless,
God made all these possible,
So let’s be responsible.

Embracing the Nature MERIT
Preston Wong 4A
Hear the rustling sound of leaves,
all under my toes.
Hear the sound of the stream.
Zooming down mountains like a swarm of bees.
Hear the birds singing on the trees.
I can’t see them cause they’re on top of me.
See the flowers and smell them,
they smell as good as honey.
See the pond right beside me,
frogs and ducks are nowhere to be seen.
See the little bees flying around.
Hunting nectar before it runs out.
Walk up to a small hill,
I see the whole forest behind me,
Walk to the top,
I see the sun setting in the horizon.
Walk back down,
The sky is getting dim.
Time to leave!
It was very relaxing for me.

Night at the School MERIT
Sean Lee 4B
“Meet you tonight at school in English room for an amazing adventure. P.S. Commit these instructions to memory, then destroy the letter! Do not talk about this to anyone! It’s an extremely secretive secret!” as I read out the letter in my bedroom. I started to tremble with excitement for the right adventure.
At a quarter past nine, I arrived at the school entrance. I sneaked into the school without letting the security guard notice. Then, I ran up to the English room. It was so quiet that I could hear a pin drop.
I held my breath as long as I could and open the door slowly. “Is there anyone here?” I asked nervously. There was no answer. I turned on the light and I was astonished to see the knight at the corner unveiling his silver metal armor mask.
“Welcome! I’m the 'knight' at the school, Bogawompa,” said the knight. Bogawompa was famous for being friendly as he was a good man in the knight stories. “So what is the adventure?” I immediately asked. “Come along with me!” he said as he held my hand tightly. “Let’s fly!”
He flew to the air with me and we two disappeared. “Where am I going?” I asked myself quietly.
After a minute, Bogawompa and I were standing at the sky scrapper. “In this garden, every grass is a period of time. If you pull this one, the garden would go back to the ancient Greece period, where you may chat with great philosophers like Plato. Or if you pull that one there, you are able to take part in a chariot race in the Coliseum in ancient Rome. And, he said as he ran to the side, “this, you may go to the cretaceous period, where you can discover how the dinosaurs became extinct.”
I chose one and pulled it off. The grass and the side of the walls became yellow colour. Then, I couldn’t see anything as some smoke came into my eyes. Closing my eyes for a minute, I opened widely again. There was a tall, thin man sitting on a golden throne. It was Ramesses II!
“You two are thieves! Feed them to the crocodiles!” the pharaoh said. Bogawompa stepped to the front and said, “Pharaoh Ramesses, we are not thieves. We are just travelers!” But pharaoh didn’t mind, he just shouted to his guards to catch us and feed the crocodiles.
When we two arrived the Crocodile River, I saw the crocodiles opening their mouth. Then, I accidentally slipped. I fell on the grass and pulled one of the grass.
To my surprise, everything disappeared except Bogawompa and I. We were on the garden grass again. Then, I heard a voice. “Who are the thieves?”the guard was walking on the stairs. We two flew up to the air. This time, I know just what exactly to do,I pulled off the “dinosaur” grass and we two disappeared.
Now the security guard was lost in time and would being eaten by the dinosaurs. Again, I was in the English Room but Bogawompa turned into a statue again, I said goodbye to the knight and left the school.

What Do You Think of Love? MERIT
Pierce Tong 4C
Love is an open door,
that needs to be more and more.
Love is a hot sun,
And it would never run.
Love seems high as sky,
But it is always kind.
Love would never fall apart,
it is always in your heart.
Love is a tube of glue,
It is always stick with you.
Love seem cherry blossoms,
they are very awesome.
Love never get sad,
even though you feel mad.
Love is a kiss,
and you don’t want to miss,
Love is brave,
and you would like to embrace.
Love is crazy,
and will make you super busy.
Love is blind,
and people don’t mind.
Love is all around,
it has to be found.
Love is you and me,
others cannot see.
Love is my friend,
and friendship never ends.

Night at the School MERIT
Aidan Cheng 4E
It was a boring Monday at St. Oli’s school. Mike and Nike were having a tedious Chinese lesson; they were doing different actions in class. If the bell doesn’t ring soon, I’ll say I need the toilet, go out, and come back when the bell ringing, Mike muttered “Uh… I don’t think it’s a good idea.” said Nike. “I will not…” Before he could say the rest of the sentence, the bell rang. “Yes!” they pumped their fists in the air.
Before leaving school, Mike and Nike decided to go to the toilet. After Nike finished poling, he tried to open the door but he couldn’t. After a few minutes, he realized that the door was broken so he shouted “Mike! Help!” but there was no answer. Why? Because Mike was sleeping! So poor Nike didn’t have any help. After six hours, Mike finally woke up, opened Nike’s door and said “What’s the time now?” “Er…night time? Look, the sky is dark?” said Nike. “So that’s cool,” said Mike “because we can explore without any teachers around.”
The corridor outside was the same as normal except there were no people, so they decided to walk around come were and have fun. While they were playing tag near the science block, they saw some people whispering and carrying computers “ I think there are ten of them. Look, that guy got wings.” Nike whispered, “what are they doing?” “Er…stealing computer?” Mike whispered back.“We’ll ask them what they’re doing,” said Nike as he started to walk to the ten guys. “Wait!” Mike whispered and he pulled Nike back. “ They are we gonna do?” asked Nike. “Mmm…ah, I’ve got a plan.”
They ran into the toilet as fast as they could without any sound, and hid behind a wall. After ten minutes, they heard the door creaking. “There they are” whispered Mike “And there is only one person. Let’s try if this works.” They use their school bags to hit the guy, and the guy fell to the ground. “Yes, it worked.” Mike whispered, “Now go back to the place where we were hiding just now and do it again and again.” An hour later, all of the ten guys were beaten up and Mike and Nike won the battle.
Time flies, the next morning came. Mike and Nike were walking back to their classroom and stopped when they saw the teachers arrived. “Wow! You are so early!” said the teacher. Mike murmured, “Oh man! Not Chinese again!” Nike nodded “I’d rather lock myself in a toilet...I don’t want any Chinese!”
