Our Story Pilots at a kindergarten for Reading-Sharing Activity 2025
(20 March) Our Story Pilots Reading-Sharing Activity this year was an enriching storytelling activity hosted in collaboration with Ming Wai International Kindergarten's Prince Edward Branch today. Led by Vice Principal Ms Jenny Ho and myself (Mr Jason Lau), 16 Primary 4 boys from Ying Wa Primary School took on the role of storytellers for a group of eager K2 kindergarteners.
This interactive session allowed the Ying Wa boys to read a selection of engaging English storybooks, fostering a sense of connection and joy between the two age groups. As they animatedly shared tales of adventure and imagination, the boys not only honed their English language skills but also cultivated essential social skills such as communication and empathy. The experience encouraged their creativity as they brought stories to life, while also instilling patience as they navigated the learner diversity amongst the younger listeners.
Overall, this event proved to be a valuable opportunity for personal growth, reinforcing the importance of storytelling in building community and nurturing a love for reading among children.
