Senior Choral Speaking Team 2025
Congratulations to both of our Choral Speaking teams, attaining Second Place at the 77th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival.

Our Junior Team (P.1-3) had their competition on 21 Nov and the team scored 87 marks. Adjudicator Mrs Doolan wrote: "...Very animated and imaginative. Your voices were well projected and you reflected on all the images in the poem..."

Our Senior Team (P.4-6) had their competition on 28 Nov and they were given 86 marks. Adjudicator Mr Owen commented: "...Intelligent responses, nice clarity and fine teamwork
-- good! Excellent vocal contrasts..."

Great work to both teams of students and teachers. Very well done!

I am Kowen Suen in 3D. This is the third year I am in the Junior Choral Speaking Team. The poem for this year is called "The Piccalilli Monster." It is an amusing and interesting poem. Some classmates wear entertaining costumes, and others sing beautiful songs to enrich the performance.

I feel happy to be one of the team members, and I hope the choral speaking team can be successful again next year.

I am Mocha Lei in 3A. When I received the invitation to join the Junior Choral Speaking Team. I was so excited because it was my second time being part of this group. Throughout our training sessions, I learned the importance of concentration and teamwork, and everyone's hard working was very important.
I would like to thank Miss Jenny, Miss Janice, and all the team members for their effort.
In the end, we proudly won second place. All member effort worthy of respect.

I want to talk about my experience and what I’ve learnt in the senior choral speaking team.
First,we had to plan the plot.We fixed it a few times and we started on the roles. In the beginning some of us missed a lot of rehearsals and we were not cooperative as the competition came. Luckily, more practice time made us more confident and better. After months of hard work, the time came.We were the first one to perform on stage. It came exactly as planned. At last the standings came and we came second place! We were surprised because we never thought we’d get second.

I learnt that practice makes perfect. If we didn’t add rehearsal times, Thanks to Mr Richard, I bet we wouldn’t even get third. This is my experience and what I’ve learned.Thank you.

It has already been a while after the choral speaking competition, and I think I learnt a lot from it. We had to cooperate and use teamwork during the process and we trained almost every day, from free time to after school. In the end, we got second place but it was still a valuable experience for me.

I am Garbriele Yuen in 3E. This is the third year I join the Junior Choral Speakjng Team. Being part of the choral speaking team has been an incredible journey! Every rehearsal, every tweak to our delivery, and every cheer from teammates led to that second-place win. It’s not just a prize, but a treasure of growth. Every practice not only ramps up my confidence but also shows me how to use expressions to make the poem more vivid. Grateful for this journey, and ready to sing louder next year
