(15 Jan) Our P.5-6 Singapore Study Tour 2025-2026 (10-14 Jan) has concluded with a splash! Throughout our visits to various places such as the Merlion Park, Lau Pa Sat, Chinatown, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck, Science Centre, as well as our main highlights, the Drama Workshop and school visit to Fairfield Methodist School (Primary), our boys displayed a very high level of focus, responsibility and eagerness to learn.

We teachers are proud of these boys' behaviour on the whole and we look forward to reading their reflective booklets as well as their presentations on stage soon.

There will be more overseas tours for our boys, so, let's look forward to more adventures in the near future!

This is my second time in Singapore. Though it's my second time there, it is still thrilling to see the famous landmarks I haven't seen last time. This tour helped me build my independence and enjoy eating at "Food Heaven" in Singapore. The Chinatown was for buying souvenirs, and I bought a handful. Singapore, I'm coming again next time!

Thanks so much for taking care of all of us, we had a wonderful journey! The Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck was one of the most exciting parts of our trip to Singapore. Standing high above the city, the deck gave us a breathtaking view of the skyline, the busy streets, and the sparkling waters of Marina Bay. From up there, we could see famous landmarks like the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay, and even ships sailing in the distance. It felt amazing to look down and I realised how small everything seemed compared to where we were standing.

The first memorable experience is visiting Gardens by the Bay.

Why do I think it is memorable?

First, in Gardens by the Bay, we saw the Supertree Grove, Supertrees are structures built like a tree with plants on it, but what is really amazing is that it has solar panels on the top, which can power the electronic devices or the lights in the garden. Second, we can see the harmony and balance between urban development and nature in Gardens by the Bay. It is built in one of the busiest districts in Singapore, the Marina District. The trees and plants can absorb the greenhouse gas and produce oxygen which we take in.

The second memorable experience is visiting the Science Centre.

The Science Centre was definitely a haven for kids. Although we did not have enough time to go through all 8 parts of the museum, the 1 section that me and my group with already enough to make us say ‘Wow!’. There was this disgusting but funny “Get To Know Your Poo” exhibit, the mirror maze that makes people dizzy, and a lot of scientific games. Some that were most memorable to me was a robotic arm that is controlled using liquid pressure ; a scrub that makes plastic balls stick to it. It was really amazing to see science in a whole new way!

The third memorable experience is visiting the Marina Barrage.

The Marina Barrage was really impressive. They built this lawn on top of it where people could picnic and fly their kites. There was this Marina Bridge (dam) which can prevent floods. They also have this filter system that can turn used water in drinkable water called NEWater. They could put public entertainment together with water filtering was really really impressive.

After this trip, I learnt to be grateful, appreciative and polite. Grateful for people who care for me, appreciative of people who spent effort planning things for me, polite to strangers or people who serve me. I hope I can have more experiences like this! Thank you Principal Chan, Dr Lee, group teachers, Mr Brian — our travel agency leader and Auntie May, our local tour guide!

I am really grateful for the chance I got to participate in this trip. We had a fun day one while visiting the city and also learned about their maritime history. We had a very packed day to and it did not disappoint, we went to marina bay sands observation deck and it was breathtaking, to be able to see the city skyline and see all the buildings below was a delight, the sustainable gallery was also very good as the green roof was relaxing and enjoyable and the gallery was also very interesting, gardens by the bay has to be the best of the day as the beautiful flowers in the flower dome made it amazing the air conditioning made it look like we were in Norway. The waterfall was beautiful as well as we walked up the stairs we got to see Jurassic world. On the third day we also had a lot of fun, as for the drama workshop, we had a lot of fun and laughed a lot so it was really enjoyable. The city gallery was also very interesting showing an overview of the whole city. I think the students were very happy while in China town as they bought a lot of stuff. On the fourth day we visited Fairfield Methodist school and it was big and we had some meaningful lessons. Also the CCA’s were fun and interactive so we really had a great time. The national library also had a lot of books and had a lot of exhibitions to look at. The final day was probably the most fun day as we headed to the science centre. It had a lot of interactive games and science facts and taught us a lot. Conclusion is that it was fun and we learned to appreciate and to be grateful to what we have and savour it before it passes by

Last week, my P6 classmates and I went on a learning journey to three important landmarks in Singapore: the Merlion Park, Chinatown Heritage Centre, and Gardens by the Bay. This trip was organised to support our English and learn about Singapore.Iwas excited to see these places up close instead of only reading about them in books.

2. WHAT I EXPERIENCED AND LEARNT

At Merlion Park:
I saw the iconic Merlion statue and learnt that it was designed in 1964 as a symbol of Singapore. The lion head represents our original name “Singapura” (Lion City), and the fish tail symbolises our history as a fishing village. I never knew the statue was moved here from its original location in 2002! This helped me understand how Singapore chooses national symbols to tell its story.

At China town,we bought a lot of things as the things there are very cheap. The shop owners there are very nice and always give discounts for us.It is the perfect place to you want to visit in Singapore if you are on a shopping spree.

At Gardens by the Bay:
In the Cloud Forest, I felt the cool mist and saw plants from tropical highlands around the world. I learnt about biodiversity and how the dome uses sustainable technology to save energy.

This year’s Singapore tour is an exciting experience of exercising our English and experiencing a Singaporean life.

First of all, visiting Fairfield Methodist Primary School. There, I can truly experience their school life and learn different cultures and knowledge, like Science.

Secondly, shopping in China Town. There, I can buy different kinds of souvenirs which are cheap but high-quality and see how Singaporeans think about China.

Thirdly, walking in Gardens by the Bay. There, I can really see how Singapore is a green city by how they use different types of plants to create different extraordinary art work.

In conclusion, Singapore is a city for you to travel, learn and experience different cultures. Singapore, I will go again!

This is my first time in Singapore and it is an vabulous journey with learning loads of skills that definitely could be used in our daily lives. It is fully balanced on English learning, activities, sightseeing, meals and rest time.
Firstly, I personally love Gardens by the bay, considering it's a sustainable garden and it has amazing construction, wonderful place to see. I loved the plants as it really caught my eyes and I saw many different kinds of plants such as multiple weird looking cactuses that are very tall, fat and just pure weird. I felt like it has air condition in it, however it surprised that there's fully no air condition, such a surprising fact.
Secondly, I do think the Drama Workshop is also a very rememorable event, it's because this is my first time to attend a drama workshop, it is interesting. I learnt some teamworking skills there as well, what a fun and satisfying event as we could all get our emotions out.
Moreover, I loved all of the meals in Singapore as well. All of those different meals made me try the Singapore traditonal cusines. Filling my whole tour with savory, spiciness and sweetness among the food.
To conclude, I loved the whole Singapore tour because of Gardens by the bay, Drama Workshop, the meals and so muchmore. 1Finally,I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our travel agent leader to arrange our schedule, travel and meals. Big thanks Mr. Richard, Dr. Lee, Ms. Jenny Ho, Ms. Kei Yip & Mr Jason Lau for taking good care to all of us during this study tour. At last, many thanks to teachers selected me and gave this opportunity to join this study tour, let me participate in this wonderful, valuable and memorable trip.

I think that the food is delicious. Also, the checkpoints we went to is exciting. First is the Merlion. I realised that the statue was so high. Then is the “ice-cream sandwich”. That is like a hamburger, using to slice of biscuits and a rectangular ice-cream to make the food. I can’t see these them anywhere in Hong Kong, but many of the shops in Singapore.

This my first time visiting Singapore and it was a great visit. I think the trip was amazing as I have learnt both useful skills and different things in this fabulous city. However, in all the places I've been to in Singapore, I have three places that I enjoyed visiting the most.

Firstly, I really enjoyed my time on the observation deck at Marina Bay Sands. Up there, the view was astonishing. You can see the whole Singapore at one sight. Moreover, you can also see parts of Malaysia and Indonesia. It was amazing.

Secondly, I really liked the drama workshop. At school, I don't get to act often. However, at the drama workshop, I can act freely as long as it fits my character. While acting, I get to express myself as much as I can. Meanwhile, I had a lot of fun.

Lastly, I liked Lau Pa Sat a lot. There were tons of choice for food. They all look and taste good. It was a amazing food market.

In conclusion, I think this study tour is very well scheduled and worth to go. Also, a huge thanks to Principal Chan, all the teachers, our travel agent leader and our tour guide for making this wonderful trip possible.

My recent study tour to Singapore was an incredible experience. Although this was my second time visiting this country, it felt entirely new and exciting. I would like to share the reasons why I enjoyed it so much.

Firstly, we got to taste authentic local Singaporean food. On the very first day, we tried Kaya toast. The toast was served warm and crispy, and it was perfectly complemented by the sweet, creamy kaya sauce and butter. Eating it with a soft half-boiled egg made it the most scrumptious lunch I have ever had!

Secondly, we visited Fairfield Methodist Primary School, where we shared stories about our homes with our buddy students. I was amazed by how large their school was and impressed by its modern facilities. They have not one, but four gardens, along with many special-purpose rooms. After a tour of the campus, I joined some of their lessons. My buddy, Jared, was especially passionate and made me feel warm.

Another highlight was our trip to Jewel Changi Airport. There, we saw the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. Standing at 40 metres high, it was a truly spectacular sight. The entire Jewel building has ten storeys, and we viewed the waterfall from various angles.

Lastly, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the adults who made this trip fantastic: Dr. Lee, Miss Jenny, Miss Yip, Mr. Jason Lau, Mr. Richard, and our wonderful tour guides, Auntie May and Brian. They took great care of us and guided us to all the interesting spots. A special thanks to Dr. Lee for organizing and managing the trip, and for keeping us laughing with his funny jokes.😁

In conclusion, this was a truly memorable study tour. It deepened my understanding for Singapore’s culture and sights. I am already looking forward to the next adventure in the near future.

❤️❤️❤️

This Singapore tour was so exciting and fun and adventurous,we went to the Merlion, URA, the science centre, and so many more. We learnt how Singapore managed its growth while keeping it steady at the same time. The food was also amazing, we ate some ice cream sandwich, ate at lau pa sat where I ate very spicy kimchi rice… We also went to the Fairfield Methodist school primary and exchanged presents with my buddy. My buddy gave me a squishy merlion plushie and a pen which made me so touched that I almost shed a tear.Overall I think this trip is very adventurous and I felt a little sad because this tour only lasted for five days.

It was my first time to Singapore; I was so excited in this whole study tour.
In this tour, my classmates and I went to different attractions, like Merlion Park, Marina Bay Sands and others. I took a lot of photos there. We ate many kinds of delicious food, e.g. Malaysian cuisine, Singapore cuisine, Chinese cuisine... They were mouth-watering! I would like to try another time.
The highlight was going to Cloud Forest in the Gardens by the Bay. The view of the waterfall was extraordinary, the water kept splashing on us when we were taking the group photo, there was a ‘Jurassic Park’ movie addition too! We saw many realistic dinosaurs there, the one I liked the most was the T-rex. It was huge.
Another highlight was visiting Fairfield Methodist Primary. It was fun to talk to the students and experience to attend their Chinese and English class. Although the classes were a little bit easy, I still like the teaching attitude in Singapore.
The attraction I liked the most was Chinatown. There were many Chinese historical buildings. Also, I bought five bags of souvenirs there, they were more delicate and cheaper than most of the other shops in Singapore.
In this trip, I learn many valuable things. I learnt how to take care of myself and the history and facts of Singapore. In conclusion, this was a truly memorable study tour. Thank for Principal Chan, Dr Lee and other group teachers to take care of me and scheduling this Singapore study tour. I look forward to going to Singapore next year or maybe later!

I am very grateful that the teachers invited me to this trip.Through this trip I learnt a lot things and visited a lot of destinations.my most memorable experience was in Fairfield Methodist School, where we learnt the Singapore style of teaching and what students are learning. Also,I could learn to be even more outgoing and make new friends.Through this experience,I could also learn new skills like drawing with watercolour and sketching.
To wrap up,this trip was very memorable for me and I felt a little sad we couldn’t have more time to stay in Singapore and to visit places.

The tour was great. I went to Singapore before but I never knew about Singapore that much. This tour gave me the opportunity to learn English and also learn from other countries or cities what should we do to improve our Hong Kong.Singapore is somebody for us to learn. Singapore is a small country, city and island but they can run the country so well and even get appreciated by other nations.

Their school is very different from Hong Kong. They had gardens, classes up to J, etc. I experienced the school life and it was very good. The school is gigantic although Singapore is a small country.

Thank you teachers, team leaders and tour guide for taking care of us. We had a great time in this tour.

Thank you teachers for taking care of us all this trip.

Our tour to Singapore was wonderful. We got to experience their country’s culture through many exciting experiences.

First, I really enjoyed my time at the Drama Workshop. I don’t really get chances to act, so it was a very unique and fun experience. I learnt the usefulness of being able to improvise and practised improvising lines there. To do so, the teachers there made up a scenario for us and assigned us different characters. My group’s scenario was a teacher telling students to stop cheating and I was the teacher. It was very funny but also a great learning experience.

Second, I loved staying at the Fairfield Methodist Primary School. Even though the school was old, it felt very comfortable there. One thing I admire it for, is that the classrooms didn’t have air conditioning. While some students find it very inconvenient, I find it environmentally friendly. And, I got to try some Indian food there, it was very delicious paired with sugar. Also, my buddy showed me around the school and made jokes along the way, making it a very enjoyable experience. It was very sad to have to say goodbye to the students, but I’m very glad we can see them again in March.

Third, I had a great time at the Gardens By The Bay. We could see many types of plants there, once again proving that Singapore is a very green country and I think Hong Kong should learn from that. There was even a Jurassic World area there. It was very interesting and cool to see the dinosaurs.

Lastly, I loved seeing the exhibitions of the Science Centre. The exhibition I remember the most was the haunted house. Inside, it taught us about different phobias and even had interactive displays to conquer the fears. There was a fake spider inside a glass box and people could put their hands inside of it. I personally have a fear of butterflies and moths, there was a picture of a butterfly and a sign next to it telling us to put our hands over it. Even though it was very considerate to allow us to do that, I was too scared to do it.

Once again, thank you all the teachers, tour guides, and everyone else who made this trip possible for us. I am really grateful for this once in a life time opportunity.

Participating in this Singapore study tour has been one of the most enriching experiences of my primary school life. I feel truly blessed to have explored this vibrant city together with my best friends, sharing our mutual passion for English. From the well-organized itinerary to the delicious local meals, every moment was unforgettable.

Three experiences stand out as the highlights of my journey. First, our visit to Fairfield Methodist School was heartwarming. Despite it being the busy start of their school year, their hospitality was incredible. I loved the interactive lessons and felt encouraged by the teachers to participate actively. My most important takeaway was the friendship I formed. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Johanna, my buddy at Fairfield Methodist. We have even promised to stay connected as pen-pals in the future! Second, the Drama Workshop was a fantastic exercise in creativity. Progressing from verbal descriptions to silent acting and finally one-word challenges taught me the power of communication. Finally, the Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay was breathtaking; exploring "The Lost World" and the "Crystal Forest" felt like stepping into the ancient world.

This tour also deepened my knowledge of Singapore’s unique heritage. I was fascinated by the Legend of the Merlion, learning how its lion head and fish tail represent the "City of Lions" and its origins as a fishing village. I also gained a profound respect for Singapore’s Journey to Independence. Understanding the challenges of "housing a nation" and the complex "marriage and separation" with Malaysia in the 1960s showed me how much perseverance it takes to build a modern country. Finally, I was impressed by Singapore’s Water Sustainability. Learning how they transform "used water" into high-quality NEWater taught me the importance of resourcefulness.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. Lau for his caring leadership and for giving us the responsibility of being daily leaders. This trip was perfect and memorable, and my only wish is that it could have lasted one day longer!

This is the third time I went to Singapore, however, I am very grateful that the teachers would invite me to this tour.I enjoyed eating the traditional cuisine and visiting the famous landmarks.

One of the highlights in the tour was the Fairfield Methodist school. We experienced the Singapore teaching style and their after school activity. It also let me have the opportunity to make more new friends.

I also enjoyed shopping in china town. The items there were very cheap.i regretted that I bought some same ones but more expensive in the garden by the bay. I bought a lot of souvenirs in china town for my parents and my friends.

The drama club was also a wonderful experience. We had a lot of fun there. We tried to guess different words by giving the hint of only words, movement or sentences. We also made up some stories by giving a word each by everyone.Last, we acted a drama by the scene and the personalities the teachers gave us.Some of us made it so funny. We could not stop laughing.
After this memorable tour a learnt to respect different cultures, make good use of teamwork and the importance of cooperation.Lastly, I deeply thank the teachers and tour guides:Mr Brian,Aunty May,Mr Richard,Ms Jenny,Ms Yip,Mr Lau and Dr Lee,who took us to different places and looked after us.Thank you!

During this trip, I had broadened my horizons. We visited a lot of famous places in Singapore, like Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck, Singapore Maritime Gallery, Gardens By The Bay, China Town, Orchard Road. When I visited all the places right there, I really wanted to go there again and take more pictures.
After visiting Singapore, I am looking forward to going there again with my parents and being a mini tour guide and bringing them to the places I went on this trip.
I want to thank all the English teachers who gave me this opportunity to go on this English Enhancement Singapore Learning Trip. Thank a lot again!

This is the second time I went to Singapore, but this tour was definitely more memorable. In my opinion, visiting Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck was the most exciting landscape to visit, after u take the lift, a jaw-dropping view of the whole Singapore awaits you. We also went to Gardens By The Bay, which featured Jurrasic Park dinosaurs, it also has the largest man-made waterfall. We of course enjoyed the famous Haiwanese Chicken Rice, it was delicious! Thank you teachers for hosting this wonderful trip for us!

This is my very first time I’ve been to Singapore. In my opinion, Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck and the Drama Workshop are my favourite locations.

There was an extraordinary view when looking from the Observation Deck. We can almost see the whole Singapore from up there! (Gardens by the Bay, the Merlion and more!)

In the Drama Workshop, we played a lot of games and learnt about how to continue the scene with saying “Yes, and…”. After that, we formed groups and performed humorous drama. Back when I was P. 4, I was in the school’s Drama Team, so this time was just like recapping what I learnt in the Drama Team. I still remember one funny drama when it is my group mates turn to perform. They performed a rather silly but funny one — about cheating in exams. Because it was a sudden topic, my brain couldn’t react very quickly — not like my other group mates — and said (or shouted) some silly and nonsense words, just to make the audience laugh, or something like that.

One of the trip highlights: visiting Fairfield Methodist Primary School — our local “brother or sister” school (as Dr. Lee said). Except for one, everyone in my group’s buddies were girls. Of course mine is also a girl, and she is called Aimee. She is gentle and shy, but I learnt a lot of special things from her and her school, such as the fact that her school has three to four gardens.

To be honest, this is literally the best trip I have been to until now! I want to thank all the teachers (including the Fairfield ones) for being so kind and generous, planning this trip and preparing it for every one of us! This is such a memorable trip! I am looking forward to going to Singapore again soon!

Thank you teachers for taking care of me these five days! I had a very enjoyable trip!

it's just my first time going to Singapore, so I was very excited. In this trip, I learnt a few things.

1. learning how to use money wisely: in Chinatown, there were a lot of things to buy. But then I found a Merlion statue which I really liked. But I saw the price and told myself, "Maybe I can find this in different shops which will be cheaper. "Then I really saw the same product in an other shop. It costed one Singapore dollar. But in the first shop , it was two Singapore dollars. Then I bought it. From this experience I learnt when you wait patiently good things will come up.
2. learning how to save the environment
In the marina barrage, I learned that how Singapore changed from a bad environment to a good environment. They solved it by encouraging people to useBMW transportations (bicycle, metro, walk) (that means using eco-friendly transportations), encouraging people to do three Rs(reuse, recycle, reduce), last but not least by encouraging people to plant trees. I will also do these things to improve Hong Kong's environment.
I look forward to going to Singapore again!

This Singapore tour was excellent!

Some memorable things:

1. I enjoyed the Drama Workshop. I learnt how to improvise. You have to think quickly. Even though I was in the Drama Team last year, I still found it pretty challenging!
2. The Gardens by the Bay was amazing. The Cloud Forest had a very tall waterfall and different kinds of robot dinosaurs that looked real.
3.The Science Museum had lots of cool exhibitions. My favourite was the haunted house. Even it wasn’t as scary as I expected, l still learnt a lot on different phobias. A very exciting exhibition was the mirror maze. I found it easy to identify a mirror. Still it made my head dizzy with so many mirrors.
4. The main highlight of the tour was visiting Fairfield Methodist School. Even though it was busy during the start of the year , they treated us very well.I met a new friend, Alissa , who was my buddy.I can’t wait to see her again in March!

In this tour, l also learnt about Singapore’s history and culture.I learnt why bubble gum is banned , how the Merlion became the city mascot and how Singapore merged with Malaysia and parted in just five years.

In Marina Barrage,I learnt how Singapore turns used water into NEWater, burning rubbish into NEWsand to construct roads and encouraged people to use BMW(bicycle, metro ,walk)

I want to thank Dr.Lee and the english teachers for letting me join this study tour and Mr.Lau for taking care of us.

This is my second time and Singapore, and it was so much fun! I had a really enjoyable experience in Singapore, and I learnt so many different things!
We went sightseeing, learning and buying! The highlight of the trip was visiting our ‘sister’ school, Fairfield Methodist School (Primary)! During the school visit, my buddy, Brayden, was really kind! He showed me around the whole school, and all the special rooms, like Makerspace, the library, Chinese Garden and others! They have 30 minute recesses, just like our free time, and you can buy snacks at tuck shops! I tried the curry fishball and it was delicious yet spicy! I followed Brayden to the STEM CCA (co-curriculum activities) and used Strawbees and straws to make an unusual statue and prototypes! Finally, we said farewell to them and I look forward to them visiting us in March!
Overall, I want to thank Miss Yip, my group teacher, Mr Brian, for making the itinerary, Aunt May for being our tour guide and most importantly, Dr Lee for organizing the trip! Thank you everyone, and I hope to go on more study tours with our school. This was the best trip I’ve had!

I've been to Singapore for a few times, but this tour is the best and unique experience.
The best tourist spot was the MBS Observatory Deck, the Observatory Deck hangs 200 metres above ground. From there, we can see the Merlion and half of Singapore!
Besides the buildings, we cannot miss the local food. On the first day, we tried the Kaya toast, which was toast with peanut butter and cream inside served with a half-boiled egg with pepper and soy sauce. We also tasted the Hainanese Chicken Rice, it was eaten along with some oily rice.
But the best of the best was the visit to Fairfield Methodist Primary School. Their warm welcome and hospitality made us feel like home. We had a tour around the school, which had gardens, a library and a huge canteen! We experienced lessons like Chinese and PE. For lunch, we ate Naan bread with curry served with an extra-sweet milk tea. This is surely an unforgettable experience!
Lastly, I want to thank Dr Lee and the teachers for giving us this opportunity to come to Singapore, and thank you to Mr Brian and Auntie May for showing us around and leaving down tracks of wonderful memories.

Thank you for an amazing Singapore study tour! It was immensely enriching.

Participating in the drama workshops boosted our confidence in using English creatively, while the exchange programme with Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) gave us authentic insights into Singaporean student life and forged new friendships. The well-planned sightseeing, from the futuristic Gardens by the Bay to the historic neighbourhoods- China Town culture, brought our classroom learning to life. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and warm care of our wonderful teachers. Thank you for guiding us, keeping us safe, and making this journey so educational and memorable.

We've learned so much and will cherish these memories.

I was extremely fascinated of the Singapore trip! I learned lots of things in the tour including the history of Singapore, water supply, how to be eco friendly and manners to serve others!

The most unforgettable of this trip is the school trip.I learned Pu Tong Hua and English during the classes. I also experienced dancing during their extra-curricular activities. It was exhausting but I thought it was very interesting. Do you know, I even made a friend there which is a lady!

I learned a lot to serve others like my classmates and teachers.l also learned manners during different areas like in the restaurant, museum and in the school.

It is a great learning experience for me!
