Language Arts at YWPS"Language Arts" forms a major pillar to the English Language curriculum of Ying Wa Primary School. We see this concept as referring to language teaching and learning directions that involve performing English as a form of arts. This is very often done through participating in training and performing of poetry, prose and other dramatic texts, and engaging in creative writing.
We see Language Arts as an essential element to our curriculum, as we think it is important to encourage our boys to apply the English language in meaningful and interactive contexts in addition to their ordinary work with this language. English, like other languages, is a tool to represent oneself; it is used to touch people's heart and to make connections with people. We teachers have been engaging our students into a rich Language Arts environment as we ourselves are lovers and critical practitioners of this art form too.
