My Sad and Happy Day   SECOND PLACE
Quintus Luk 3A

Dear Diary,

Today I was sleeping on the school bus and I heard a few coughs. I opened my eyes and saw a man on a bed. He was the great composer, Mozart! I realized that I was in the 1700s. A man opened the door. He was shocked when he saw me as I was wearing a school uniform.

After that, I knew I'm going to see Mozart die. Suddenly, I came up with an idea. First, I told him to rest for a few days. Then, I started to write down the Requiem from my memory.

I hoped he would not die for a few reasons. First, he was only 35 years old. Also, everyone could be entertained by his music. The most important one was that I wanted some new pieces of music by Mozart.

I was happy and sad I met Mozart but I was worried about changing history. Beethoven wrote his violin Romance No.2 because of Mozart's death.

Although this dream is not true, it’s a god experience. I hope I can meet others composers in my dream next time!

A Journey to the Past   THIRD PLACE

Tom is a genius. His dream was to go back to the past, so he made a travel teleporter. When he was making the teleporter, he was thinking about what happened in the past.
After a week, he named it ‘The Traveller’. He set the timer to 1970. It was because that Tom was a huge football fan and 1970 was the year that the World Cup was held in Mexico. Brazil played Italy in the final and Pelé was playing.
When he arrived, he saw the city full of people wearing Brazil jerseys. The VIP tickets were only thirty bucks and Tom went into the lounge. When he saw his seat, he was amazed by the view. He got Pelé’s signature!
He enjoyed the game and Pelé scored three goals to help Brazil win!
It was time to go and he got back to the teleporter and went back home.
When he arrived home, his mother asked him, ‘Where did you go?’ Tom said that he just played at the park! Tom was ready to once again use the teleporter…

My Sad and Happy Day   MERIT
Adrian Cheung 3C

Last Monday, my English teacher – Mr. Ching gave us the exam paper. I began to gnaw my fingers in nervous dread. When I knew my marks, my jaws dropped. I only got 80 marks!     After the English lesson, my Math teacher came in the classroom with a beautiful smile. She said, “You guys are very smart, everyone got higher than 90 marks in the exam!” I chuckled in glee. When I got my exam paper I beamed from ear to ear and screamed. I got 96 marks!
When I was going home, I paced up and down on the street because I was afraid that my mother would become furious and scold me.
When I got home, I told her about all of my exam marks. She said that it was okay. I promised that I would do my best in my exams. She praised me. I learnt a lesson that I must do well in every exam.
This precious memory will be ingrained in my heart forever.

A Journey to the Past   MERIT
Carlton Yip 3C

Today, when I was in my bedroom reading a book, I found out there were weird noises coming from my wardrobe. I opened the wardrobe to find out what was going on, I was amazed because there was a time machine! I was curious about the time machine so I jumped in it.

I landed on a ship and it was the Titanic! I’ve just seen it in books! It was the first time I could look at the Titanic in real life. But there was a problem, the ship would sink after half an hour. So I needed to work fast. I took my camera out of my bag and took many pictures of the Titanic, like the boat deck, restaurant and the rooms.

All of a sudden, I noticed there was an iceberg in front of the ship, and the ship would hit the iceberg. The sound of the engines had stopped. But unfortunately, the ship hit the iceberg. I was scared.

The time machine appeared and I jumped into it. At last, I got back safely.

A Journey to the Past   MERIT

“3...2...1...Zap!” the time machine started. I just finished testing the time machine and decided to travel back in time. I set the time to the time when dinosaurs lived, put on an astronaut’s outfit and blasted off. But...
“What is this place?” I murmured, finding myself floating in space. I looked for Earth, but I simply couldn’t find it. “Looks like the time machine made an error. This is 650 million BC, not 6500 BC.” I went back into the time machine and wanted to go back to present. However ...
“I really need to fix this time machine!” I said, to find myself facing a load of dinosaurs.
They chased me so I ran into a forest. I climbed up one tree and jumped to another like a monkey. Finally, I saw my time machine. I jumped into the time machine and set the time to the present. This time, the time machine finally got me back to the present.
I fixed the time machine, tested it, ready to press the “Blast Off” button...

A Journey to the Past   MERIT

On a Saturday, I was in my bedroom, trying not not think about ‘the moment’. ‘The moment’ happened when I was interviewing for my school. I answered stupidly on one question and I regret my decision ever since it happened.
POOF! A middle-aged man appeared in front of my eyes. He said, ‘Want to change ‘the moment’? Jump into my time machine!’ He pointed at a chunk of metal on the ground. Although I was very confused at the time, I still wanted to change ‘the moment’, so I hoped into the piece of metal.
Instantly, I was transported to where ‘the moment’ happened. I saw six-year-old in the distance. Quickly and quietly, I shuffled under his chair and whispered the correct answer in his ear. He changed his answer, selecting ‘bug’ instead of ‘chicken’.
I crawled back to the chunk of metal, got teleported back to my bedroom. The man asked, ‘How did it go?’ I answered, ‘Brilliant!’
I walked slowly to my bed, and lied down. It had been a long, exhausting day and I needed a break.

A Journey to the Past   MERIT

One day, an object caught my eye. It was a small thing that looked like a TV remote. However, on closer inspection, it had interesting buttons on it. Some said 'Past' and some said 'Future'. Almost right on cue, a voice started speaking, 'Hello, lucky finder of this remote! You might be wondering about what is this! I'll tell you, this remote means you can travel to different time!'

I was shocked. It was a bolt from the blue. I looked at the remote, the 'Past' button looked attracting. In a flash, I was transported to medieval times. The date on it read: 14th April, 1847. Just then, a knight came out of the castle. Suddenly, a lot of people ran over to the knight and it was none other than King Arthur.

Just then King Pelinore arrived. King Arthur took out a trumpet and blew into it. The Knights of the Round Table appeared.
I found the remote and pushed a random button. I was suddenly standing in my bedroom. I opened my cupboard and hid it for later use.
