I had a magic finger, but...    SECOND PLACE
Jayden Lee 3C

‘Welcome to Dr. Lee’s Factory! How can I help you?’ My AI robot answered an incoming call politely. As an owner of Dr. Lee’s Factory, I am good at fixing many devices and items speedily with my magic finger. However, there was an extremely difficult case that was reported to me some time ago.
As a hole in the ozone layer could have serious effects on human health and the environment, a scientist wanted me to fix the hole in the ozone layer. This time, I was really hesitant.
I had a magic finger, but I am not able to see distant objects clearly because I am short-sighted. I was afraid that the entire ozone layer would be destroyed by me if I were unable to point it to the exact position by using an ozone precisely.
To ensure that I could fix it successfully, I got on my spaceship and identified the exact position by using an ozone detector. Then I got out of my spaceship and fixed the hole of the ozone layer with my magic finger precisely.
Protecting the Earth is the responsibility of each of us. Let’s work hard together to protect our planet by following the three R’s, “Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce, “ to conserve our natural resources.

Final Battle   THIRD PLACE
Yi Cai 3B

Gauwa stood at the top of the cliff
Staring at us
With his devilish eyes
as around as dinner plates
he wasn’t the greatest, couldn’t beat the war
I was the best, I could beat the world

Gaywa hid in the jungle
And covered the shimmering moonlight
All can be Seen was his pointy hair
As sharp as one thousand knives
Went face to face with all my fears
Learned my lessons through the tears

Gauwa laughed so head
He shook the ground
His mouth was dark and wide
Like a cave full of swords
How would I know if I never even try
Just fight for my pride?

Gauwa’s wing were as big as the vast sky
His claws were ready to bounce and make him fly
He was an angry cat wagging his tail trying to lie
Whoever dares to cross his labyrinth will surely die
I must chase the sun, caress my soul to find my road
I would glow in the dark turning dust into gold

There I was riding the sky and painting the night
I was changing into a burning flame brighter than light
From the bottom to the top I never thought of quit or stop
Even it took a thousand lives I would fight for
Standing in the Hall of Fame
Finally the world knew my name

I had a magic finger, but...  MERIT
Mark Au 3A

My name is Mark, since I was nine I had a magic finger. I’m about to tell you that story of my magical journey with my magic finger.
That morning started out just like any other. After having breakfast, I wanted to walk to the bank to do some business. I turned on the TV. There was breaking news! ‘Bank of Yingwa and bank of St. Margaret had been robbed in the same street. Ten robbers wearing dark shirts and masks, holding pistols and grenades. It was very scary.’ a legman reported.
My magic finger turned to gold finger, and I said to myself, ‘it’s the time to save the city!’ Thus I teleported to the crime scene, I turned and come face-to face with the robbers and hostages.
‘Open the safe, give me all moneybags.’ The robbers demanded. All other hostages were in fear, screaming loudly. The armed robbers pointed the guns at me, when the Magic finger activated, there’s nothing I can’t do. I turned the pistols into spiders, the grenades into a frog. When I felt my finger tingling, the robbers had been tied by a rope. Then, I sent them into prison. Now all the hostages are released and they are on cloud nine. I realized that my parents are in the crowd of hostages and staring at me.
‘This is TOTALLY UNEXPECTED!’ I shrieked. I could use my finger to solve this problem. I held their hands and teleported them back home. Then, I gave them a magic potion that made them sleep, so I could keep my magic finger secret.
The next morning started out like any other. I turned on the TV again and there was another robbery. Oh, I need to go to the bank again! See you soon!

I'm Grateful to My Teachers  MERIT
Avis She 3A

Three years have passed but we are still fighting with the virus which is called COVID-19. Many business establishments, as well as schools, are affected by this pandemic. Students like me cannot go to online classes. It is good to know that our teachers do not stop teaching us.
From the bottom of my heart. I am sincerely thankful for all my teacher. They spend a lot of time preparing teaching materials for our lesson. Teachers are always willing to answer my questions. I really appreciate their effort, concern and love for us. Thank you teachers for motivating and inspiring difficult situation.
I am so glad and blessed that I have great, helpful and considerate teachers. In return, I will study harder and be diligent in doing my homework.

Gauwa  MERIT
Ryan Wu 3A

Gauwa is smelly like a rat,
also tall like a skyscraper,
His breath is Covid-19,
also strong like a thousand wrestlers.
His wings are massive like the sun,
his eyes are sharp like a hawk.
Gauwa is quicker than a streak of lightning,
He is invincible like the universe.

My Way to a Green Life   MERIT
Nathan Wong 3C

Do you think your life is green enough? Actually it is way easier than you think. We can do that in our daily life and it’s never too late. Let’s get started!
The 3Rs are the essential elements to save energy for Earth. 3R stands for reduce, reuse and recycle. You can reduce the use of fuel for transport easily by walking or biking. If the distance is too long, consider public transport instead of driving a private car. This will reduce the CO2 emissions which is a greenhouse gas. I always walk to travel a short distance. It is also healthy.
Also, I separate the rubbish before outing it into the recycling bins. Remember to clean it first so it can be recycled in a more effective way. Surely, it is preferable to bringing our own bottles and handkerchiefs instead of using disposable products such as plastic bottles and tissues.
Moreover, I will reuse the water collected from the dehumidifier to mop the floor and collect rainwater to water the plants.
Conserving natural resources can make our Earth greener. You may think you can’t do much but every little effort counts. If everyone dose their part, this world will definitely become better and healthier. I urge everyone to do so now.

The Awful Gauwa  MERIT
Chong Chak Him 3D

Gauwa, Gauwa,
Are you living in the mountain flying like a butterfly in the air?
Why don’t you tell your family that you are there?
Are you lonely?
Do you have a honey?
Please come to Ying Wa where we shout wa wa wa!
You, this little trash, why don’t you go for a wash?
How do you defeat endless heroes?
