I Had a Magic Finger, But... SECOND PLACE

I had a Magic Finger. When I pointed it at the sky, I could freeze time.
My mum woke me up at six o’clock every morning. I pointed my finger at the sky so I could sleep for more hours. Then, one day when I woke up, I found myself taller than my sister.
My mum stopped me from playing video game every afternoon. I pointed my finger at the sky so I could play the exciting games for more hours. Then, one evening when I was washing my face, I found a beard growing on my face just like dad.
My mum switched off the television at nine o’clock every night. I pointed my finger at the sky so I could watch my favorite channel for more hours. Then, one night when I was brushing my teeth, I found my teeth falling out just like my grandpa. In the mirror, I could see I was getting bald!
You may want to control time and envy my Magic Finger. However, when you see your grandpa’s face in the mirror but not yours, don’t expect the Magic Finger to help reverse everything again!

My Way to a Green Life THIRD PLACE

Should we live a green and clean life? Or should we live a dark and polluted life? People are hurting Mother Earth by littering, creating more smoke and cutting down trees. Many animals have lost their beautiful homes, ice caps are melting and there is a massive deforestation. We must go green and change the world.
Let’s start with the 3Rs. We can reduce using plastic bags by bringing our own reusable shopping bags instead. Reuse old newspapers as special wrapping paper and recycle unusable aluminum cans in the yellow recycling bin.
Moreover, I will influence everyone I know, including my friends, family and relatives by telling them we must save the sick Earth. We have to go green by planting trees to freshen the air and taking more public transportation to reduce exhaust emissions.
If we don’t go green, Earth will be covered in dirty rubbish, smelly smoke and destroyed trees. The Earth will become a garbage planet. Resources will also be all gone in the near future. We should start protecting our environment right now!

My Way to a Green Life MERIT

Environmental protection is the most important part to a green life. I would like to live a green life so I do my best to protect the environment. Let me show you how I keep my life green.
When I go to shopping with my mother, we will bring our own recycling bag and will not take any plastic bags from the shops. I also refuse to use disposable utensils (e.g. straw, paper cup, plastic fork, paper plate, plastic container, etc…) I will use my own reusable food container when I need to take food home.
I often sort garbage at home and then throw it into different recycling bins. Blue is for paper, brown is for plastics and yellow is for metals. I sometimes give away old books and toys to others.
In order to save energy, I always remind myself to turn off all electrical appliances after use, especially unplugging my computer after online lessons. In addition, I usually turn off the water when I am brushing my teeth in the morning and at night.
I hope everyone can be like me and have a green life. Then the world will be more wonderful.

“A big group of armed robbers are attacking the Star Bank!” the super computer reported. I quickly ran to my motorcycle and off I went! When I arrived at the Star Bank, I saw at least one hundred robbers! I pointed my magic finger at one of them and he fell down. “Magic Man is here!” they yelled. I chased them into an alley. Suddenly, the robbers’ leader, Hans, ran towards a bus with passengers. I instantly used my magic finger again but not only did the magic lightning hit Hans, it accidentally hit the bus as well! I was frightened and rushed into the bus to help the passengers. Some of them were injured and some were still very scared. Just then, then ambulance men arrived and rescued them.
Although the police were thankful to me for catching Hans, I felt extremely sorry to have hurt the innocent people. The magic finger is a powerful yet dangerous weapon. To prevent this kind of accident from happening again, I decided to use my magic finger with extra care going forward. From that day onwards, Magic Man has become a cautious superhero.

The email’s title was “Click the hyperlink below, you will get a special power to make things positive.” Out of curiosity, I clicked it and was eager to know how it worked. Unbelievably, some light flashed from my computer and it directly went into my right hand’s forefinger!
Afterwards, I decided to try something. I went to a restaurant with no people eating inside. The boss was very sad and nearly cried. I comforted him not to be so pessimistic because I could help him right away. I started to cast a spell and my finger vibrated strongly. After a minute, the restaurant was full. The boss was so happy and me, too.
After a month, I received a message about “7C50” device getting a nasty virus and my magic finger would not work anymore. The power could resume again only if the whole world united together to fight this virus. I began recognizing: code “7C50” was 7 continents and 5 oceans.
I hope everything would be back to normal by: “Together, we fight the virus.

How wonderful if there is no more pollution in this world! Every fresh breath is filled with the fragrance of flowers and the scent of trees. Animals chase in the wilderness freely, marine life sunbath in the oceans without being choked by plastic bags and trash.
Going green is becoming popular. I have been hearing so much about climatic change. The global temperatures are rising brutally. So I’ve decided to make some changes, starting with changing my personal habits and giving my home a green makeover.
Stick to the eco-friendly 3R principles- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. It is easy to adapt in our daily life and here I’d like to share some of my practices. I always bring reusable water bottles, bags and utensils with me. I will keep away from overbuying and excessive use of paper. I use energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances at home. Moreover, I make full use of recyclable stuff for sure.
Our earth is unique. We’ll be moving a step closer to conserving the Earth’s biodiversity and natural resources with everyone’s contributions. Let’s move on to make a difference and strike our friends to act on. Meet you up on THE WAY TO GREEN!
