A Letter to a Chef          SECOND PLACE
Lance Lau 1A

To Chee Gustare,

When we first met, I was so shiny. I were happy working for you. But the first thing I didn’t like you do to me was that you put me on top of the stove. My bottom hurts. Ouch! But then, we have cooked lots of food which were yummy and some were super tasty your customers were very satisfied, right? I wish I could try some of the things we made together. But the second thing I didn’t like is that after cooking, you used a metal scouring pad to scratch away the burpt. Once again Ouchy!

After a long time, I am not that shiny anymore. I think it’s time to replace me because I think that the food won’t be that yummy. Please don’t throw me away. Please put me in a museum.

Yours,
Frying Pan

My Dream        THIRD PLACE
Cyrus Soo 1E

Everyone has a dream about what to become of one grows up. I dream of becoming a scientist. Scientists help the world solve problems by finding out the truths. My way of thinking come from having joined a ‘Global kids’ Lab Program; jointly organised by BASF and HK University of Science and Technology last summer. It increased my interest in understanding science through interactive experiments and demonstrations.

After the program, I find myself very curious about the surroundings around me and then ask why and how things happen. It is fun and exciting! I have a dream of creating a loaf of magic bread. The ingredients are the theories of each subject. Once people eat the bread, the theories will pass to their brains. It is amazing!

To make my dream come true, I need to learn the scientific knowledge. I am going to attend mathematics and science classes. Meanwhile, I shall do some simple experiments during my leisure time. Also, I want to train myself to be an organised and patient person with a creative mind.

Being a scientist is good for me! Do you love doing experiments in your goggles and lab coat with me?

My Favourite Pet        MERIT

My favourite pet is a snail, its name is Sugar. I like it because it is very cute and special. I get it from the vegetable before cooking.

Sugar is brown, it has two long eyes, one mouth and one shell. It lives in a coffee jar and moves up and down in the jar all the time. I love to watch Sugar move and eat in  the jar.

Vegetable and egg shell are Sugar’s favourite food. Mom and Dad clean the jar and I give Sugar fresh vegetable every day.

Sugar is clever, one time it finds the hole at the top of the jar and runs away.

My favorite word is DREAM. I like the word dream because I dream every night and I have my own description of dream.

D stands for delicious. Every night, I dream of the delicious food my parents will cook for me tomorrow.

R stands for rabbit. I always dream of I can have a white furry rabbit as a pet.

E stands for Earth. I love my Earth. I dream of being a power ranger to protect our precious Earth.

A stands for astronaut. My dream is to become an astronaut when I grow up so I can fly up to the Mioon.

M stands for monkey. I hope everyone’s dream will come true in the Year of Monkey.

My favourite person is my daddy. I love him very much. He drives me to school from Monday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday nights, he tells me stories before I sleep. He often takes me to museums like Hong Kong space Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defense and Hong Kong Museum of History. I like to join orienteering competitions with my daddy. My daddy is very nice and I like to play with him very much.

A Letter to a Chef        MERIT
Benedict Cheung 1E

10th February, 2016

Dear Mr Chef,

How are you? I am Benedict Cheung from Ying Wa Primary School. I am fond of eating and cooking. I also like to cook for my family and friends.

I have created a fruit and cereal necklace recently. It is made of whole-grain cereal and dried fruit, like apricots and grapes. When we are wearing it, we can also snack on it. It can not only keep us healthy, but also give us energy to play.

What do you think about my fruit and cereal necklace? Please write soon.

Love,
Benedict

When I grow up, I want to be a fireman. It is because I want to rescue people and put out fires. I drive a fire truck, climb a ladder and use the water hose to put out fires. And the fireman are brave because they are not scared of fires and heat so I want to be a fireman.

I need to train every morning by running, swimming, climbing and carrying heavy equipment. I will eat healthy foods like vegetables, meat and rice to keep my body fit and strong. By doing all these things I can be the best fireman.
