I love my pony, Madonna. We spend a lot of time, walking, trotting, cantering, playing and hanging out together. Madonna gives me confidence, teaches me patience and persistence. She listens to me, comforts me when I am sad, nuzzles me when I am lonely and shares happiness with me. She is my true companion at all times. There is a strong bond and connection between us. To reward her love and friendship I work hard to learn how to feed, brush, groom, wash, tack and untack her. I am so blessed to have Madonna as my best friend!

Camping Buddies THIRD PLACE

I love camping with my best friend, Karson. One day we went to camping in the forest on a sunny day. We set up a tent next to a pine tree. Then we wanted to take out the food but we could not find the sausage. We thought we might have forgotten to bring and leave at home.
That night, we slept inside the tent. Suddenly, we heard some noise. Then we saw a shadow that looked like a wolf. It was coming bigger and closer. We were so frightened and we decided to take a peek. Karson slowly opened the zips of the tent, then he smiled at me and said, “Oh, Chunyin! It was a hairy puppy not a wolf!” The puppy looked very hungry, so it was searching for food from our backpacks. “Let’s share our bread and ham with the lovely puppy!” So we got out of the tent and had dinner with the puppy. It became one of our camping buddies.

One sunny morning, Ambrose and I were playing at the park. Suddenly, a rabbit passed by. We were delighted to see a rabbit in the park. We chased it immediately, but it disappeared under a tree. We walked around the tree to look for the rabbit. Accidentally, we fell down into a hole and found a deep tunnel inside. Out of curiosity, we slid down the dark tunnel and stopped at a piece of grassland.
We looked around and finally found the rabbit in the distance. We ran after it and arrived in a garden. We were excited to see a lot of animals such as penguins, pandas, flamingoes, tigers, giraffes, hedgehogs, foxes, racoons, ponies, dogs and zebras etc. it looked like an Animal Kingdom. We were shocked that they could speak and walk like humans. The animals were also amazed to see us. They were friendly and welcomed us to their place. We were introduced to each other and they invited us to join their party. Many fruits and drinks were served in the party. There was a live band playing music and Miss Nightingale sang beautifully. Ambrose and I joined other animals to dance. We taught them how to play “musical chairs” and “what’s the time Mr. Wolf”. We played until night time and we had lots of fun.
It was time for us to leave. We said goodbye to all our new friends. Mr. Rabbit brought us back to the human world. We thanked for Mrs. Rabbit and hope we could meet them again soon.

My Grandma is my idol. She has a great passion for flowers and gardening, and she owns a big garden in her living place. Every time I visit Grandma and we can spend a whole day’s time in her garden. We always plant tomatoes and radishes, dig potatoes and play with worms. We pick peas and eat them right from the shell. I am shown how to plant seeds and how to move plants around. She has lots of strawberries and they are so delicious. She cooks many amazing meals for our family from that garden.
My grandma always says, “If you hope to harvest a life of great deeds, remember you first have to plant some great seeds,”
I am a fan of my grandma. I love my grandma so much!

Austin and Anson’s Adventure with the Time Machine MERIT

It was a long summer. Austin and I had finished all the summer holiday assignments. We were bored so we created a time machine.
“Beep Boop, you may come in” cried the time machine. Austin and I grinned at each other and hopped into the time machine. We steered it to a zillion years back int time.
Kaboom! We landed on something hard. We had no idea where it was. We strolled around. The more we explored, the more nervous we felt. They sky was dark, cold and silent. This place was full of dark energy and no comfy at all. We saw nothing but some strange and big footsteps. The footsteps led to a ginormous and terrifying monster!
The monster was looking like King Kong but much bigger in size. Its body was fully covered with thick black fur. It had long pointy ears which was looking like antennae. Its eyes were red like fire! It had sharp black teeth. Its mouth was so big as if it could gobble up 150 Mrs. Paul in one bite. Suddenly, it gave its biggest, loudest and strongest ROAR! His roar echoed around the space. What a scary creature! Austin and I were terrified. We knew we were in big danger so we tiptoed and crept away.
Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! “Hello, little Man-cubs, I am glad to see you here. No matter where you go, I will catch you, squash you and squeeze you!” the monster growled and laughed.
We could hear its stomach rumbling. We didn’t have time. We crossed our fingers and toes. As quick as the wind, we fled and hopped into our time machine. Just one second, we returned to 2022. What a relief!
Time travel is fancy but too dangerous. Since that day, Austin and I never dare to use the time machine anymore.

An Adventure in a Dream MERIT

On a sunny day, my friend Brian and I go hiking in a mountain. We find a big cave in the summit. We think it is a fun place and we want to explore it, so we enter the cave.
We see a giant and a shining treasure box in the deep side and we want to go closer to open it. But suddenly, a monster jumps out and blocks our way. The monster has four green eyes, five red mouths and six long hands.
We are very scared and we want to go home. Then we turn around quickly and start running away. The monster chases after us and we run faster and faster. After we run for hours, we are so tired and have to take a break. We are so worried the monster is just behind us, but when we look back, we are very excited because the monster is gone! Finally, we arrive home safely!
What an adventure! What a dream!

Super Boys’ First Mission MERIT

It was one very chilly day in the winter time of Hong Kong. In the last day of school, the Super Boys were very excited and elated to enjoy the Chinese New Year holiday.
“Oh… Yes! Finally it’s the last day of school,” said Ferris, the leader of the Super Boys team.
“Yup, I can’t wait to go back home too, Ferris! By the way, what’s your plan for our holiday?” I asked.
“Let’s not think about our holiday yet! I’m starving, let’s order some pizza.”
As usual day, the ever so charming Tristan was still chatting and grasping every opportunity to take pictures with the girls. “Hey, Scarlett! Do you want to take some pictures,” said Tristan. “Tristan! Are you done yet?! Stop talking to the silly old girls” shouted Ferris and I. “Fine! We’ll go home then. Bye, girls, see you after the holiday,” said Tristan.
Our Super Boys team house is near the shoreline of Wu Kai Sha and looking from the outside it might seem like a very ordinary house. However if you go inside, it is a rather state of the art and the most environmentally-friendly house. On basement one, we have converted the entire floor into a high-tech laboratory, where we devote most of our time in inventing and developing new technology to help the world. On basement two, we keep all of our latest technologies including our Super Car which can transform into different transportation with a remote control.
While we were waiting for our pizza, we were chilling out in our cozy living room watching our favourite dinosaur fighting. Suddenly, breaking news popped up, and it said that a very special element was discovered by some scientists and its “Teslalinium”. Apparently, it possesses a huge amount of clean energy that can power the Earth for thousands of years. On the contrary, if the people use it in the bad way, it could be cataclysmic.
“Wow boys! Did you hear that?! What if we could get it and use it in a good way the whole population will be saved!” I exclaimed.
“What a brilliant idea!” said Tristan.
“Ding Dong!” The bell rang.
“Let’s quickly eat our pizza then we could work outa plan to search for that special element,” said Ferris. “Yes, Mr. Ferris… the leader of our Super Boys team,” giggled Tristan.
After we finished our lunch, the Super Boys team wastes no time and rush to basement one to start our work. After a few hours of detail discussion. The Super Boys team finally found out the secret location of this deserted island in which we will find the mysterious element.
“Hey guys, I think it’s a great idea to leave at mid-night as our research said that the villains have already taken control of the island,” said Ferris.
“I think it’s a spectacular idea,” said Tristan. “Cool! By the way, please make sure you guys put on my latest stealth mode suit, as we want to avoid any confrontations with the culprits,” I said.
The Super Boys are now ready to go. They took their super powerful and elusive Super Boys car and loaded all the weaponries. First, we had to transform our Super Boys car into a submarine. After one and a half hour, we finally managed to arrive in the deserted island safely, big thanks to our latest stealth technology.
“Awesome guys… Let’s go and find the precious element before the villains get their hands on it,” I said.
“Not so fast, we have to take this device with us so that we could find the location of this new element as well as detecting any dangers from the surrounding,” said Ferris.
“Great! Let’s turn it on and show us the location,” said Tristan.
“Oh my god! Look at that! The whole island is covered with deadly laser guns everywhere, and the element is at the middle of the island which is completely sealed off by the high-voltage fences,” I exclaimed.
“So how on earth are we going to get that element?” shouted Tristan.
“Ok, boys, here’s the plan. First, we will use our Super Boys car to dig a tunnel which could lead us to the back gate where there are a lot less laser guns. Once we have arrived, we will turn on our stealth and invisible mode to help us to get pass the gate by using our magic decoder,” said Ferris.
It was a foggy, gloomy and ghostly night that just made the island even more mysterious. However, everything seems to go according to plan, but we all felt that its too good to be true as it seems like the calm before the storm. Suddenly, all the laser guns started pointing at us, and we were absolutely petrified and we didn’t know how to react for a few seconds.
“Follow me and run, can you see that hole? Let’s jump into that hole!” shouted Ferris.
“Guys. Hurry up! The villains are chasing us!” exclaimed Tristan.
At the back of my mind, I was hoping that there aren’t and dangerous creatures such as the likes of Black Widow, King Cobras and Death Stalkers.
“Guys, 1…2…3… Jump!” I shouted. Bang! Bang! “Ouch! Tristan gets off my back, it really hurts!” shouted Ferris.
“Hey, look around yourself, the entire hole is covered with Black Widow, King Cobras and Death Stalkers!” shouted Tristan.
“Boys, relax! Remember I made a device for you? It should be inside your right pocket. Let’s switch it on and see what would happen,” I said calmly. Then, magic happened as all the dangerous creatures started moving away from us as if a door had opened up by itself and lead us to the treasure. At the far end of the tunnel, there were some shimmering lights glowing in the dark and at that moment we knew we found the treasure. We sprinted towards it and quickly put it into a special bag. All of a sudden, the cave started crumbling down. “It’s time for us to leave. Let me summon our Super Boys car and turn it into a helicopter,” Ferris said.
Ten seconds later, we heard a loud propeller sound started approaching as then a ladder dropped down from nowhere! Then we jumped straight to the ladder without second thought.
Once we got out of the underground cave, the helicopter quickly dragged us inside the cockpit. However, an even greater danger awaited us. All the laser guns were pointing at us, but our Super Boys helicopter managed to dodge all of them and took us safely back home. And that was our narrow escape in this exciting mission.
