Dear Mr. Grasshopper,
How are you? We haven’t seen each other for few months. I am fine. After you joined the New York Symphony Orchestra, did you feel hard to catch up?
After the adventure, many children wanted me to share with them the story, so I thought it would be great if I could write a book about that. At that time, I didn’t know this book will be the most popular book. I am very amazed.
Last week, I met a boy who is very good at playing the violin, like you. And we are good friends now. Should we meet on next Tuesday so I can introduce him to you? I think he can be your good friend too. Both of your skills in playing the violin should be improved as you could learn from each other.
Moreover, my friend told me that Disneyland is a good place to visit. I plan to gothere next year and meet more new friends. I want to have more playmates. I will tell you more about this next year.

I Became Friends with a Robot THIRD PLACE

Last Christmas, my parents gave me a robot as a present. I named it Tom and treated it like my little brother. He was very nice with me too.
He is about one meter tall, and he has a cube-shaped head. He also has a blue and silver body. He is quite thin, like me. His legs are short too. He can make himself as tiny as a ring. Although he is small, he is very smart. He can walk on any material, even water and lava! He is made of carbon fiber and light weight metal. He can swim, fly and turn invisible too.
Yesterday, recess, some students were screaming and shouting suddenly. They pointed at a rubbish bin and said, “There’s a fire in the rubbish bin!” So I sent Tom to calm down the students and put out the fire. First he sprayed water out of his eyes, but it wasn’t enough. He told me to take a water hose, but it wasn’t enough either. Then we came up with an idea. We took a gigantic piece of cloth and put it on the rubbish bin. In no less than one minute, the fire was gone. Finally, we needed to calm down the students, but the teachers had already done the job for us. Everyone watched me and Tom to end the fire. I was over the moon when they clapped their hands!
I’m very happy that is here with me. I’ll be very nice to him forever.

One day, I was poking through my father’s storage. Suddenly, I heard a weird whirring noise. It seemed to be coming out from the pile. Just then, I picked up a suspicious robot. it was red in color, and its face is square-shaped! It appeared that I was strangling his neck. I let go of him. My mind was full of questions. ‘What was a robot doing in my father’s storage?’ ‘What kind of tricks he could do?’
It said in a funny voice “Hello! My name is Alphax from the fifteenth dimension. I can tidy, sort, organize and even decorate. Tell me what you want me to do!” I brought Alphax to my room. I heard my dad calling me for dinner. I said to Alphax, “Er… Just stay for the moment, in that blue cupboard!” “Cupboard… Blue… Colour…” The robot was going round and round in a circle. “Cupboard. Colour. Instruction understood.” After dinner, I went into my room and opened the cupboard door. I could not believe my eyes. All my things had been tidied away in colour groups! The shelves looked like a rainbow.
My mom came into my room to check on me. She was very shocked by my blue cupboard. “Well done, Brian, you’re finally tidying your room. I look forward into seeing your room!” she praised. I was very happy. Every night, she came into my room. Every time, she praised me. I hid Alphax under my bed when she came.
One day, I decided to donate Alphax to the dump for tidying. The dump needed it way more than I do. The workers at the dump even sent me money as a thank-you.

Yesterday, my classmates, my teacher and I went to visit Technology Museum. We were extremely excited because we got to play the newest video games there.
Once we arrived, my classmates and I rushed in immediately. Our teacher told us that we could explore the museum by ourselves for a little bit. We could not wait and scattered in all different directions.
My classmates invited me to play the video games first; however, there were many people lining up and I decided to browse the robot area first. Suddenly, a boy came to me and said, “Hello, my name is Jason. Nice to meet you! Would you like to follow me and visit the museum together?” I took his suggestion and we walked together. Afterwards, we visited different parts of the museum and I was amazed by Jason’s knowledge. Jason knew everything and he explained many things to me. For example, Jason knew how electronic appliances work, how to block different kinds of viruses and many more.
At last, I needed to leave. I said goodbye to my friend Jason and waved my hands. After that I saw Jason going to a charging spot to charge himself. And that was the time when I realize I became friends with a robot!

How are you these days? I haven’t seen you in months! After you got your job, you often have to go to other countries to perform your beautiful songs! Now, you are in America, and I really miss you.
I have three questions to ask you, if you don’t mind, Mr. Grasshopper. First of all, what is your newest song? Can you send me your newest song on a music disc? Our home (the Giant Peach’s stone) has a brand new music player now! Ms Ladybug and I have just bought it with some of the money that Centipede, Earthworm, Silkworm and Miss Spider earned.
Now for the second question. What kind of hotel are you staying in? Is the bed more comfortable than Miss Spider’s bed? What kind of food do you eat? Leaves? Salad? Veggies? Or maybe crickets?
Now the last and most important question. How much money have you earned? We are running out of food in the peach stone and the others haven’t made much money these days. As for me, everyone got tired of listening to my story and nobody put any money into the box I made.

Dear Diary,
Yesterday, Spiker (my sister) and I made a fortune charging people to see the peach that we discovered the day before which is as big as our house!
Today, we’re very hyped up as we already saw about a hundred people and charged them to see our peach and it’s only six o’clock in the morning! Our dingbat nephew James went missing since yesterday, but who cares when you’re becoming a millionaire in your garden?
I’m gonna get used to a rich person’s lifestyle, since I will be one very, very soon. When I woke up this morning at four o’clock (to get more money, of course), the peach looked bigger than ever! It’ll probably attract more people, and that means more money! Huzzah!
Listen! I hear and awful sound, sort of like a snap. Oh no! It’s the peach! It’s rolling down towards us! Here it comes, faster and faster…
We just awaken from our sub-consciousnesses, and we found out that we were as flat as paper dolls. Our beautiful peach was long gone now, our money! At least we can film a Flat Stanley movie to make money. We’re now planning for it as filming a movie fulfills my Hollywood dream, but there won’t be any servant James…

I have a secret that I never told my parents or my sister. I have a robot friend.
One day, when I was doing homework, suddenly, my drawer opened and a robot appeared. I was surprised and scared. The robot might also be shocked by my reaction. He started to light up and turned into a hamster. No one can refuse a funny and furry hamster. I wasn’t afraid of the cute robot hamster anymore.
The ‘hamster’ told me that his name is Robot H and i can call him R-H. He was a world traveler from another world. During his trip to Mars, his ship was broken. That’s why he landed on our Earth. As R-H couldn’t leave his ship alone, he begged me to bring some plastic for him to fix the ship.
While I collected plastic, R-H would help me do my homework in return. He also chatted with me and played games with me when I’m bored. I started to collect some used bottles and shopping bags for R-H. Days after we became close friends. One day, R-H said to me, “Thank you, my dear friend. The ship is fixed. I can continue my trip, bye.” I felt sad to lose a friend.
I gave him my best wishes and asked him to visit me some time in the future.
