Our P.5 boys enjoyed a great dramatic afternoon on 14 Oct (Wed) at the fully packed Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre with the English Drama "Merlin the Magician". Directed by Dr. Vicki Ooi (AFTEC), this story of magic, courage and determination entertained children and teachers alike. At the end, the actors interacted with the audience as well and brought even more joy! They encouraged students to ask questions and invited more of them on stage to perform some simple tricks. We had four boys being picked, and Mervin Louie (5A) was one of them. Let's hear from Mervin for his reflection:
Yesterday (14 Oct), I watched an English drama called “Merlin the Magician” with all the students in P.5 at Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre.
It was my pleasure as well as surprise to be invited on stage after the drama. When Arthur (one of the characters of the drama) asked if someone was interested to go on stage for a short performance, everyone, especially my classmates, pointed at me and shouted ‘Mervin! Mervin! Mervin….!’ I was embarrassed as I knew they were calling me! At the end, I paired up with Julien Lui (5B) and performed a short magic trick to all the audience!
Among all the characters, I like Merlin the most because he was brave and patience. He taught Arthur to become the king patiently although Arthur always got distracted by others!
