The results have all been sent to the applicants of the award individually. The prize will be officially presented in December this year at Ying Wa College’s Speech Day when these boys have become Secondary One students at the College. Meanwhile, let’s hear from the GOLD Scholars on what they have to say about this honour!
From Elvin Lam 6B:
“…what a great honour it is! I must thank Ying Wa for this prestigious scholarship which is a recognition of my past effort and my passion to excel myself. This is the first scholarship I have ever been awarded, and it is a milestone I will cherish forever…This scholarship will further motivate and inspire me to continue to learn and to perform even better in future endeavors! I will share my experience I get from this programme with my brothers in Ying Wa. I will also leverage the knowledge and skills I learn from this programme in my future encounters. For that once again, I must thank everyone, including Mrs Lam, my teachers and parents, who helped me to get this scholarship and to join the Cambridge Programmes!”
From Brian Cheung 6B:
“Thank you for granting me the ‘Gold Scholarship’. I am very happy because I have never thought that I could get it. When I came back home from the Sports Training Camp held in Shanghai, I opened the mailbox and I found a letter from Ying Wa. I opened it and screamed out loud because I was too excited to have the scholarship! All in all, thanks to all the teachers and Mrs Lam for giving me this award.”
From Ronney Chang 6D:
“I held the envelope tight, my hands trembling. Sweat rolled down my cheeks. I had just received a letter from Ying Wa. Opening the envelope, I peeked inside and took out the sheet… ‘YES!’ I cried out loud. I have got the Gold Scholarship for the Cambridge Programmes this year!...I would like to thank Mrs Lam for giving me this chance to participate in this event and sincerely thank my parents who are the ones who taught me how to write my proposal and helped me during my research. I hope I can learn more during my trip to Cambridge so I can contribute back to Ying Wa or even the society someday. Thank you all again!”
Congratulations to these boys and we wish all the participants of Cambridge Programmes a fantastically life-changing learning experience this summer.
