Elvin Lam:
Animals here, animals there, animals here and there and everywhere! The days were full of animals!
We took a 1.5 hour bus ride to the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. The zoo was a really famous one in the United Kingdom. First, we went to the chimpanzees' talk. The chimpanzees were very cute, but mischievous too! The speaker talked about their life, especially food, activities and much more! This made me learn a lot more about chimpanzees. And we also went to see the penguins. And when the feeders were feeding them, they could swim so fast to get the fish. We then went to an area to see the animals living in Africa. Cheetahs were the fastest animals I have ever seen. According to the boards, they all at least can run up to 60 km/h. I also loved the giraffes, they weren't like other ones in the world, they are very happy to live in the zoo. We visited he hippos' house. Unfortunately the hippos went out. Therefore, we paid £1.50 each person to have a ride on the Jumbo Express Train. It was really a steam-powered one. On the ride, we had a quick-look of almost all animals in the Whipsnade Zoo. I took lots of photos on the train. Finally I went to the large gift shop. The postcards and notebooks there were nice, so I bought some of them and a glass souvenir cup. At last, I said farewell to the animals.
In the evening, we had a quiz for the fun activity. The game was really exciting! Although our group lost, we still enjoyed the show a lot. I liked the part "After Eight Race" most. We all thought the challenge was so funny! One of our team members got the fourth place. But at last, she got chocolate all over her face, we all laughed very happily. Besides, I also liked the quiz about places around the world. I led the team to a very successful result. They all felt very thankful. The game was so excited and we were all feeling super fantastic!
And another gorgeous day ended happily!
Ronney Chang:
Today we didn't have lessons. Instead, we went straight to the Whipsnade zoo right after we had breakfast.
We saw many different kinds of animals there: tigers, lions (they were sleeping...), chimpanzees... etc. My most favourite animal was the wolves. They were very adorable, completely different from those in movies and my imaginations. I was really lucky today - my camera ran out of battery only when we left the zoo!
Although this is our final major outing in these 14 days, we will still have a lot of fun at Churchill College. Talk again then!
