Dear Diary,
It was a great day about science and energy (topics that I loved the most)! What an enjoying day!
Through the day, I loved science the most, as I would need to go to the Swaffham Wind Turbine. The science was about how wind turbines are operated. There were a few parts that I didn't know before such as the generator and the magnet in the turbine. I learnt some interesting facts like underwater turbines and probably three turbines working at the same time! I haven't been told such things. They can also go single or in groups for different places. That made me think of Hong Kong's Lamma Island wind turbine.
In the afternoon, we met an author called Victor Watson and he introduced five books of his. One of his books even got sold out so I couldn't buy it. Such a pity. But I bought the other four books because they were interesting stories about the world wars. I love them! There was also a charity event before dinner today. The dinner was very delicious with a burger combining the turkey meat! It was rare to have that in Cambridge. There was even something I love, it was ice-cream!
Today was reading and donating. It was excellent everything goes together in one day!
Time to retire to bed, 😴😴😴
Cheers,
Lachlan Lai
Today we had some normal lessons and we came back and found out that there was an author talk! The author was a man who experienced the WWII. He was also a host of an evacuee as well about the same age as him.
He wrote fiction happening in the war. He talked about his memories and his stories and they were phenomenal! They kept me listening and listening until the whole thing ended. I even bought all of his books!
Tonight we had a hog roast meal. They were similar to the baby hog roast with crispy skin in Hong Kong. But we put them in a bun. There was also 10-12 ice cream flavours! Best dinner ever!
