For the 4th year in succession, YWPS entered the HKSDF. After 4 weeks of blood, sweat and tears (and numerous technical difficulties), eleven of our P.5 and P.6 students successfully performed the 20-minute play "Why Can't You Do It Yourself?" in front of two professional judges yesterday (23 Feb) in our school hall. The story, originally written by a group of ex-YWPS students, is about two brothers who discover the reality of having a robotic domestic helper at home. From all accounts, our actors gave a virtually flawless performance and received high praise from both judges. Congratulations must go to the boys (and their parents) for their efforts and flexibility! We look forward to performing this drama in front of you all at this year’s Drama Fiesta!
Mr Thomas Ching
Drama Coach
Performers' reflection
Johnny Chou 6A:
"This time, Mr Ching coaches the drama team and I would participate in a drama performance. My role is to be an independent lad who can get things done by himself. We met a lot of obstacles, like someone was sick during the drama practice. Also, we were not cooperating sometimes. The worst one was that the curtains got stuck at the last week of the performance in the hall! All of us had been working hard. When the performance day arrived, we did our best and the play ran smoothly. Thanks to Mr Ching for giving me an occasion to enjoy English drama!"
