It’s been a year for a lot of “firsts” for the English drama team: the first time having students co-writing the script; the first time for students to fill ALL backstage and technical roles; and the first time having actors sing and dance on stage! In short, this has been a year where many drama “units” have had to work well together under the pressure of time.
Throughout their performance, it was evident that all our boys performed their roles with passion and meaning. At the end of our performance, the adjudicators provided us with invaluable feedback and words that may help our budding actors further develop their own acting skills.
This drama experience has been a special one for all of us as there were a lot of new elements added this year. A sincere thank you has to go to both Ms Idy Kwok and TA Dennis Ying for their time and effort into making this event work (and yes, MANY hours had to be put in just to get this 18-minute performance on stage!).
Some FAQs to wrap things up:
Was this performance a raging success?
Well, that depends on who you ask. The adjudicators’ decision will be announced in late-March, so let’s keep our fingers’ crossed and keep our eyes on the announcement that will be made on this very website!
Will we get a chance to watch the English drama team’s performance?
It was a pity that we couldn’t have students watch the “Premier” (due to timetable issues), but the English drama team WILL perform this piece at our annual Drama Fiesta. Stay tuned for the date!
