It was a cold and windy morning with a steady drizzle when I arrived at Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) on the morning of 20th January with 4 young bubbly Ying Wa boys bursting with energy and enthusiasm. They were all set to meet the host of the program “The Sunday Smile” Mr. Thomas Latter and wait for their turn to record for the same. Needless to say, the boys were beyond themselves with excitement and happiness and boy, did they have fun!!!
Don’t forget to catch them on 13th March at 9 a.m. on RTHK3!
Today was my special day because Mrs. Paul invited me and some other fellow mates to record a program for RTHK’s “The Sunday Smile” It was based on traditional Easter food.
When we arrived at the Broadcasting House, there was so much to see. There were trophies, television screens and displays everywhere. I especially liked the first old telephone. Then we saw Mr. Latter waiting for us. He took us to the recording room. In the recording room we could not play run or make noises. After we knew all the rules, we started the recording. We did two takes. Today’s recording was very successful.
I am very pleased that Mrs. Paul and my parents taught me so well. I am also happy to have such smart teammates. I wish I can have another chance to represent our school in the future. Thank you Ying Wa!

My Experience at RTHK was great. It was a special privilege for me and my teammates since we were chosen to make a recording for their program “The Sunday Smile”.
I felt happy when we got inside the recording studio. We met Mr. Thomas Latter the director of this program and he assisted us to do the recording. He is a tall man and was very friendly to us.
Inside RTHK there are different recording studios with many types of equipment. When we started recording I felt excited and a bit nervous at the same time. Mr. Latter said that we couldn’t flip papers loudly or move in our seats much since the microphones were highly sound sensitive. Whew! That was hard. But my teammates and I did well.
After the recording we took pictures in front the RTHK logo, with Mr. Latter and a huge cut-out of Sunday Smile. It was fun. A special thanks to my teachers for choosing me to represent Ying Wa in this program. It was an amazing experience.

Today I went to RTHK to record for the program “The Sunday Smile”. I was very excited. Before going there I practised with my teammates, except Aurelius as he went to RTHK directly. When we got there, Aurelius was waiting for us. Mrs. Paul told us not to run or talk loudly when we got in. Calvin and I watched TV while Lincoln and Aurelius watched a lady typing on a strange computer with a TV like screen. Mr. Latter the director of the program was going to help us record it. Mr. Latter is a tall, skinny and handsome man. He was very nice to us. We went into the studio and did two takes. We had to speak into a microphone and Mr. Latter would listen to us on an earphone. When we finished we took some pictures. Then we packed our things and left.
I felt really happy today; most of all I want to thank Mrs. Paul and other teachers for choosing me. It was a great opportunity, I have learned many things today, thanks a lot and I hope I can take part again.
