Good news comes from the Hong Kong Young Writers Awards (HKYWA) 2020 amidst the gloominess of the extensive school suspension period. Jadon Lee Ching-ho of 6E is honoured as WINNER in the Non-Fiction category of the prestigious writing competition in the senior primary group. Under the theme of "Future Adventures of the Greater Bay Area", Jadon, a member of the English Enhancement Class, chose to enter the non-fiction category with his work titled "Future Facts of the Greater-Bay-Area", which turned out to be a very well researched piece full of mature and innovative thoughts, not to mention that his English writing and organization skills are truly superb for his level. But the last time our boy had actually won in a category was indeed back in 2012. Jadon's achievement here is our second WINNER in this competition and this is also our first time having a non-fiction piece being recognized by HKYWA. Although the award ceremony is understandably postponed, his achievement still deserves to be shared and appreciated. Big CONGRATULATIONS to Jadon! Dr H C Lee |
