Victory for P.6 Duologue Team

Cyrus Ho and Lachlan Lai, both from 6C, were crowned winner in the category of Duologue at the 9th Hong Kong Students Open Speech Competition on 17 May. They performed an extract from the novel "Jasper Jones". Their involvement with their characters moved the adjudicator.

Interestingly, this group performed for the Speech Gala with the same script but did not make it to the Grand Finals. Their victory here proves that they are in fact really talented performers - chances always go to the well-prepared.

It's such a wonderful and memorable competition in my life because it lets me remember a lot of scene.In December,Lachlan and I decided to join the duologue in the Speech Gala.However,we were so busy and we have only practiced for a few times.When we performed,Dr.Lee gave big pressure on us.The bad thing happened.I missed a line!At last,we failed to get into the final.we felt sorry to each other,Lachlan even wrote a letter to me and said its all his fault.Finally,I want to thank Dr.Lee for giving us a great chance to perform ourselves on a stage.I'm here to give a very very very big thanks to Dr.Lee.Thank you!!!

It is my honour to attend this competition! Although this is a small competition, it is really memorable. Cyrus and I had a failure during the speech gala competition and we got a communication problem when Cyrus skipped a line. I went too fast to react making the problem serious is the biggest mistake. Even though we failed, we didn't give up because Dr. Lee decided to let us attend an public speaking competition. Getting the lesson from our mistake, we went even better than before and we practised seriously. Finally, we prepared well and won the small competition ahead after the speech gala! I am glad that we can face our mistakes! What Dr. Lee always say, "Chances are given to people who are always ready." So when chances come, we must grab it, and submit our goal. Someone may think that it was just a simple, nothing special incident, but I can tell it is definitely the greatest lesson in P.6. Thank you Dr. Lee, you have reminded so much chances in our future! Thanks!

The "Public speaking" is to be meant an out side competition, sorry for the confusing fact!
