[11 Jan] Congratulations to our speech and drama groups winning in this year's Hong Kong School's Speech Festival.

Our Junior Choral Speaking Team won the First Place with an Honours score of 90 while our Thematic Group Speaking Team accomplished the same feat with an incredibly high Honours score of 94.

Here are their videoed work before they set off for the competitions.

As a member of the Thematic Group Speaking Team, I personally learnt a lot during the practises: for example, teamwork makes everything possiple. I thank Dr.Lee again for training us for this performace!

Being a member of this group is such an extraordinary opportunity for me.Thematic group speaking is really different from other types of group speaking. Its not just standing in the background and saying words. Each member had solo lines which is very important,as it requires clear pronunciation and an expression. Moreover,we also needed to act when it’s not our turn to speak, sometimes we would be annoyed and stare at one person, sometimes we would laugh at things. These acting created a very realistic atmosphere as if it was really happening.
In conclusion, this experience for me really made me learn a lot.It created a stronger bond between us and made me develop better speaking skills.Thank you for every member for giving your heart into this group and thank you to teachers for giving me this chance.

Being part of Thematic Group Speaking Team is truly an honour, I learnt a lot of valuable lessons during all the practices. I thank my team and Dr Lee dearly for giving me this opportunity to join this competition. Each member had his own roles and add them all up, we're a whole team.

I am truly honoured to take part in this Themetic Speaking group. My teamates were all fantastic and they performed brilliantly. I especially thank our great (and handsome😉) teacher, Dr. Lee. Themematic Speaking is truly different from all other catagories. In this catagory the teacher has to put together different pieces of poetry in to a brand new play.As the 'teacher' in the play, I Iearnt lots of valuable lessons such as teamwork makes dreamwork. Plenty of experiences of performing on stage was also gained in the process.
I think our win was very very TIMELY since both the teacher and the students have put in tons of hard work. The win was rather expected since we were the only group, but when the judge announced that we got 94 points all of us were extremely surprised. No one expected such an unbelievably high score.😝😝😯😯
Joining the Themetic Speaking helped me gain lots of courage and expierience in speaking in public. I sincerely thank🙏 Dr. Lee for giving me a place in this group. I will never forget this extraordinary memory.

I truly appreciate that Dr Lee gave me this opportunity to join the the Thematic Speaking Group. This is my second time to join the speech festival, but the first time to join this competition with other members. I really want to thank Dr Lee to let me join the group. At first, I didn’t have any confidence at all, and thought I would make everyone lose. Yet, after months of practice, I started to feel confident. Also, I really want to thank my teammates too! They all were very helpful, supportive and kind. Moreover, we all cooperated very well, to get the highest score of our school. We got 94 marks! We were all extremely proud and happy to get this score. Our effort wasn’t wasted. Lastly, I have learnt many valuable things in this group and I hope that I can soon have another chance to join a similar group again!
