[15 June] I am honoured to have received a champion trophy this morning for Oxford Primary English Writing Competition organized by Oxford University Press.

I joined the teachers' category of which the task was to design an itinerary for a "green" exchange tour. Heavily inspired by Ying Wa Primary School's Singapore tours in these 2 years, I wrote about visiting Singapore with Fairfield Methodist Primary School as a major stop.

My strategy of impressing the judges was perhaps the details I gave and the extra contents I put in. The standard worksheet provided very limited space for creativity but as extra sheets were allowed, I took advantage of that! I think when you craft anything for a contest, a way of success is to be brave to "break new ground"!

See below for my work. Do you want to join this "green" tour?

Congratulations, thumbs up and big hands to our respected English teacher Dr Lee, who has returned with a well-proposed, selected-under-careful-consideration, and cleverly sewn piece. Although I didn’t win a prize in the competition, again I very much value the precious teaching of English literature from Dr Lee. The feasibility and creativity of this piece is superb and professional, and the piece really does give a taste of green life and the relaxation and comfort from it. Moreover, it reflects on what we always think— we are leading a green lifestyle (in which that we are not). Again with showers of blessings from the P6 and the enhancement class, we all value this piece from the tiniest wordings to the big ideas, we are satisfied with the participation of our beloved English teacher. Thank you, Dr Lee! :). :)

You're too kind Colin. I learnt a lot from you as well! I think you deserve many English awards, and I'm sure they're coming in the near future. I was nowhere near your ability when I was your age!

Being a green ambassador for 3 years, I am very interested in participating this "green tour". As I have participated in the Singapore Study Tour 2019, I had the opportunity to visit some of the places that Dr Lee has planned to go in his Green Exchange Tour, e.g. Gardens By the Bay and Fairfield Methodist School. Particularly, the green environment of Fairfield Methodist School impressed me a lot. You could learn so much from the School's green culture and its fabulous green facilities, and also, the reality is no one can just buy a ticket for visiting the School unless you are a participant of the tour! Therefore, this learning opportunity offer by the tour is extremely valuable.
I notice that Dr Lee has introduced many interesting green activities in his tour programme. I am sure that the participants will learn a lot about protecting our Earth. It will surely be a unforgettable experience for the "green" lovers.

First of all, congratulations to you for being a champion, not only in our hearts, but in a competition!! The itinerary brought back a lot of good memories from the Singapore trip we had. If this was really a trip from Ying Wa, i suppose it would be not only an English study tour, but also a general studies tour! I would like to join it if I got the choice! You‘re not the only honored person today. I am very honored to be your student not because you often get awards but because you’re an overall amazing person!

Before the start of all, congratulations to our dearest teacher, Dr Lee, who had just won the champion of Oxford Primary English Writing Competition.
As a former student of YWPS, unluckily, I have never participated in any of the Singapore tours that the school had organized in these two years. However, I have been to there with my family for once. Last time when I traveled around the country, what I knew was just to play and eat though I had also visited places that Dr Lee have planned in his Green Exchange Tour, including Merlion park and Gardens by the bay. After reading the plan, I realized that I had missed a lot of beautiful scenes and "green stuffs" in Singapore because what I only care was to play at that time. Although I have already been to the country a few years before, I strongly feel that if I really follow the plan of Dr Lee's, I will learn much more than just playing around the country (especially in Day 2&3, when visiting Fairfield Methodist School). I am sure that the tour planned will let the participants learn a lot about eco-friendly and protecting our earth!
All in all, this will definitely be an attractive tour, and if it is possible, I think I will be the first to join the tour!

Good that the tour attracts you Reagan! Unfortunately, school visits could be hard to arrange privately. We can only do it through a school. Wish you were still with us and we could travel together!

Firstly,Congratulations to you,Dr. Lee.I am glad that I traveled to Singapore with you,I think the ‘green things’in Singapore impressed me a lot, their whole city is so ‘green’.My most memorable destination was going to Fairfield Methodist School, cause they had lots of gardens in it,they can make the environment more green, and the students can also learn how to plant.

I was glad bringing you along to Singapore as well seeing you enjoying the experience so much! And yes, Fairfield was a great inspiration. Hope more Hong Kong schools can learn from them.

Congratulations to Dr.Lee for winning the champion in designing a 'green' exchange tour!

As it was designed based on the Singapore trip that I had a chance to participate, I have memories in diffrent places such as Gardens by the Bay, Fairfield Methodist School. Although the two buildings are designed for different purposes, they both have one thing in common. They are all very environmentally friendly. Plants are everywhere, natural sceneries are well recreated.

Moreover, there are more places that we haven't been to but also very 'green' such as the Botanic Gardens and I would love to visit and learn from it.

I hope the Singapore Trip next year can include more places that are mentioned in this proposal!

Cheers for Dr.Lee in winning this competition!
Being one of the students who had gone on the first trip to Singapore, I'd like to say that I love Dr.Lee's choice of Singapore as the destination of the exchange trip, and I personally regard this as one of the main reasons his piece was awarded champion.
I could still vividly recall the comforting 'greenness' of the city. The city is a garden itself, one that allows for the coexistence of civilization and nature, and that's what makes it so remarkable. Needless to say, Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Botanic Gardens are great examples of how Singapore incorporated nature into their architecture. But indeed, wherever you look in Singapore, you can see green plants growing on rooftops and creepers hanging about the windows. I remember that on the first day of the trip, I came across one futuristic building with plants dangling around it, like adornments to remind us of our origins. At least for me, that symbolizes how Singapore really made effort in 'greening' their city, while preserving human culture.
To wrap up, I'm really glad Dr.Lee chose Singapore as the destination of the "green" exchange tour, and hopefully the Singapore tour next year will be using this itinerary of Dr.Lee's!
