Congratulations to all our English (external) awardees!
What more can one ask for with the ever-glimmering EduOscar (8 Jul) as the closure for our boys' fruitful year of learning?

The English Department is proud to have honoured so many brilliant awardees, for internal and external awards, at our innovative and renowned year-end award-giving ceremony known as EduOscar. I am fortunate enough to partner with Miss Candy Ho as the English MCs this year for the show. It was my fifth time hosting the event but every time looks new to me!

Thanks to Mr Dennis Tam, Ms Idy Kwok and Ms Karen Li's entertaining presentation for the English Internal Awards, to Oscar Chan and Isaac Chan for the very cute and witty delivery of the funny duologue to introduce our prize presenter Mr Simon Tham for the English External Awards, to Mr Tham for his generous appearance again for the English section, and certainly to all our parents and English teachers for their hard work over the year to make our harvest so huge! Congratulations again to all our boys!

Of course, the English language section was only a part of the evening, our school had so much more to celebrate for the year! Besides the parts associated with the English Subject, I was impressed by G.S. teachers' presentation, the drummers' performance, the string orchestra's music, the boys' improvised speeches, Harry's magic trick...there were so many things to impress everybody! You really need to witness that yourselves!

For those of you who haven't made it to the EduOscar, do not let it discourage you! Continue to try your very best! I believe that hard work pays off!

Best wishes to all!

Dr H C Lee

It was really a sparkling and stunning night! I was really glad to see that my Ying Wa classmates are such talented and brilliant. I got a lot of awards to and I think my parents and teachers and Mrs Lam are those heroes behind me to make me so outstanding.

That was such a spectacular night and I was glad that there are 33 winners in this year's English solo verse category. It was a record breaking number and it shows that we are really keen on speaking and acting. We had many external awards to and the numbers are just shocking. It was like the prizes were keep on pouring on the stage and it won't have an end.

I will be leaving Ying Wa Primary School the next year and my best wishes must be given to every member in our Ying Wa family. Hope my classmates won't get proud and will keep on fighting for more and more awards!

To me, this eduoscar is especially memorable to me as it is my last one. I feel very honored to step on the stage one last time and enjoy this very unique award ceremony that is only held in Ying Wa.
This is the sixth time for me to join the eduoscar. I felt that every person who was invited are all very high-standard Ying Wa boys to shine on stage. I need to thank all the teachers as they are the masters to educate the Ying Wa boys to achieve outstanding awards in different aspects of learning. Our teachers are absolutely phenomenal in every way and their success in teaching and training us for this lifelong learning journey is remarkable. I think they are amazing and their hard work has been paid off. Without our beloved teachers, my journey here in Ying Wa will not be that fruitful and unforgettable.
Also a great thank to our principal, Mrs Lam, for the wonderful idea if this award ceremony to congratulate our students for their excellence in different learning aspects. That is truly a fascinating and glimmering night to all the students, teachers, Mrs Lam, guests, and all the crew to set up this ceremony.
I will always remember this unique eduoscar. I need to thank my teachers and Mrs Lam for educating all the students. They are the best leaders in education. I will never forget all your lessons!

Thanks to all of our Ying Wa lovely teachers working very hard for this event. They tried their best to decorate the hall, stayed in the classroom to take care of students and create funny duologue to entertain the audience. All teachers just leave no stone unturned in this event. Words are not enough to express my gratitude.
Besides, this is my last year in Ying Wa Primary School and I have a dream. As I got an award in the last year of kindergarten, I wanted to be invited to EduOscar in p.6. After the final examination, I discovered I didn’t get high mark overall. I thought the chance of going to EduOscar will like looking for a needle in haystack. At this time, Ying Wa teachers gave me a chance. It was such a miracle. I was chosen to be the outstanding student ambassadors. I felt so elated that I could not sleep for a whole week. I finally have a chance to feel what is so sole of the EduOscar. After the ceremony, I had a good grasp of what it is.
When I stepped on the vivid-red carpet, the spotlights irradiated at me and I slowly walked up the stairs. The feeling of it is like I am an illustrious star who entrances the audience. It was the most bodacious moment in my life. Although this is not a foremost award, I still didn’t disappoint about it. It is because I understand all of the awards is an affirmative of all honoree. The value of them are the same.
At last, I hope that Ying Wa primary school can let more people into the EduOscar to bound their effort and I will not forget the teachers gave me such a great chance. Thanks for all teachers!

I could still remember the overwhelming pride and glory that passed through me as I stepped onto the stage of EduOscar just a year ago. As I stared upon the stage from below last week, looking at the students receive their awards with confidence, I could feel a familiar sensation tingling inside me. Their satisfied grins shone on stage as they clutched onto their well-deserved prizes. Without a doubt, they all have paid a lot of effort, showing great determination and perseverance and fought through obstacles throughout the entire year. Their awards were the result of the time and sweat spent. I couldn't help but feel proud of them all. The key to success is hard work and determination, and you've all proved this by accomplishing your goals.
If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like one. I hope you all continue to glimmer and shine glamorously on stage in the future.

I'm very honoured to be taking part in the EduOscar as an MC with Dr Lee. Our boys do work very hard daily and they deserve to be recognised in a ceremony like this. It was glamourous and heartwarming at the same time. Once again, thank you to all of you for putting in so much effort in all areas this year to make this event possible. Remember, "well begun is half done." May your start your new year with a goal in your mind and walk towards it confidently, diligently and passionately! See you on the stage next year :)

Thank you so much for this wonderful article reflecting on the 2017 Eduoscar, Dr. Lee. It has been and truly facinating and memorable experience to all of us and oh yes, such a brilliant closure of our primary life!
This year's Eduoscar has been particularly remarkable. I had the most honourable honour to have the chance to introduce the prize presenter of the English External Awards, Mr. Tham, using a totally new way to do it - a duologue. My first thanks goes to our coach of this duologue, Dr. Lee. Thank you so much for giving out your time to prepare the duologue along with us. We could never produce such humour and "cuteness" on the night with the honourable guests gazing up at us with astonishment and admiration! (Sorry, couldn't help boasting) And you were a really good and confident MC! So do Miss Candy Ho, Mr. Dennis Tam, Ms. Idy Kwok and Ms. Karen Li!
My second thanks goes to my duologue partner, Isaac Chan. I could not have finished the duologue without him, not ever. You have been a magnificent partner and it has been a real pleasure to deliver this duologue together with such cooperation, Isaac. Hope you also enjoyed the time on stage that night.
My final thanks rested with our very own principle, Mrs. Lam. Thank you so much for providing such a great platform to let our achievements be ensured, and a chance to feel proud of ourselves. Another interesting reason that I wished to thank her is because she was the reason that made the ceremony run so smoothly and perfectly. After those three days of Eduoscar rehearsal at school, I've seen the strict side of her. She made everything extremely neat and always thought according to the aspect of our guests and parents.
All in all, let the fireworks in the hall continue to fire away in the ever-lasting years of the Eduoscars in Ying Wa!

P.S. Dr. Lee, just a simple question, after you've taught me and Isaac for a whole year, do you still think that we are cute and witty?
