Text and Photos by Dr H C Lee

Welcome to our new school year with a brand new school theme of "How Too Obvious (H2O)" which is OBVIOUSLY water-related.

Talking about water, I must share with you my unforgettable summer trip in a gorgeous country where I saw amazing beaches that can hardly be found in Hong Kong. These beaches had very long shorelines and the water was crystal clear! Not a single piece of rubbish was found on the sands which also reflected the high quality of citizenship.

The sands were fine like powder! You would never need to worry about the sands cutting your bare feet! A lot of seagulls like to sit on the sands too! These places give you incredible shots even if you aren't good at photography!
Picture
Sunset was particularly amazing here, which is a different place from the first picture. This gave me a peaceful feeling. The sky was so huge and I felt so relaxing and free. What was even better was that there weren't many people. If this place were in Hong Kong, I'm sure there would be lots of swimmers and tourists crowding around the place. But, hang on, if these beaches were so amazingly attractive, why were there so few people?
Picture
I also discovered this incredible swimming pool right next to the beach in picture 2. In this angle, the waters seemed to be merged together as one! Would you like to swim in this pool? Or jump down to the beach instead? I prefer playing in the beach to swimming in this pool particularly because I have no idea what those black matters at the bottom of the pool are! What do you think?

A final OBVIOUS question...where did I find these amazing places? Can you name these locations? Tell me what you think about these pictures and do share with us your beach/pool related experience in the comment box below or even ask further questions! Happy swimming!

As far as I know, this amazing place is located in Sydney, Australia. It is one of the best seaside pool in the world called Bondi Icebergs pool.

I have never swum in saltwater pool. I WISH I can visit this pool in the coming Christmas vacation.

Greetings to Dr Lee and former fellow schoolmates! I am sure the trip was absolutely mesmerizing and spellbinding in its unique way! Sadly, those laudably great views, or more like kaleidoscopes, don’t coexist with the contemporaneous cosmopolitan in Hong Kong. Not to sugarcoat the flamboyance of the city is just too much (of course for me), but the only way of expunging the pressure from life is simple- a great quiet little beach and all set. As Dolly Parton once quoted, “If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.” I hope we will share the same beach, comfort and sunset with those in Sydney as well!
I like the exquisite view from the certain angle. I sincerely hope you are having a wonderful time in Ying Wa as well in Sydney. 😊

As replies above have said, this place is located at Sydney, Australia. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience in this lovely place.

I think this beach’s view is very rare in this world. This is because the ocean is polluted by us, so the sea seldom is “crystal clear”. We can use clean water to clean the dirty water. But it wastes precious water. I believe we have still got enough time to reverse our effects of pollution, and make every place as beautiful as this.

Why can’t we have gorgeous beaches that have hardly any people as the one you visited? I believe this is because Hong Kong is constantly busy and every place is crowded with people. On the other hand, Hong Kong can have its own beauty.

I hope that I can visit this place with my family next holiday!

Thanks for letting me see this wonderful view of this beach. I haven’t seen this marvelous scenery in all my life.I think it is very rare . It is a pity the beach isn’t in Hong Kong. I think the black thing is a kind of rock that stuck out of the sea below. It must be icy cold there.🥶🥶

I think this wonderful place is somewhere in the Middle East where there are many rich people (such as Dubai) . They have the money to make such a special and beautiful pool next to the sea.

Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful pictures. I believe you must have had terrific holidays!

I also had an amazing experience about water. Jewel is claimed as the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. It is located in Terminal 4 of Singapore’s Changi Airport. When I walked closer to the waterfall, I got all wet. I could not resist the power of water which fell down from the sky. To a certain extent, I could not watch the whole design of Jewel from this perspective. So, I walked further, I felt I was totally wrapped by this Jewel, namely a sapphire.

Water-themed experience does not stop here! It is not confined to beaches or pools. But infinite water! Guess what? Yes, sea. Jumping into sea.

On 1 September, 2019, I determined to have an unusual start of my school semester. I took part in the Adventure Ship organized by Ying Wa Primary School’s 75th Kowloon Group. The program provides an educational and recreational training at sea. I especially enjoyed steering the rescue boat and diving from trapeze most. Our Principal Chan is one of the members sitting on the rescue boat. How pleasant moments our life were filled in when all of us were laughing and embracing the breeze on the rescue boat!

Dear Dr Lee, the pictures you took and the places therein are absolutely stunning! Australia boasts beautiful beaches, great restaurants and friendly locals. During our visit to the east coast of Australia, we didn't have the chance to take a dip in the iceberg swimming pool. What we found it equally amazing is swimming in the "Never Never Creek", a natural stream with crystal clear water, near Bellingen which is a small town nestled in the ancient rainforest in New South Wales. I drove my son (Nathan, 1A) there after negotiating countless sharp bends, and we got changed in the middle of the forest. We then jumped into this natural stream with freezing water. What an adventurous father-and-son experience!

Thanks for bringing us to enjoy the beautiful view in Icebergs Pool at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia. Another place jumped up into my mind is the Banyan Tree Resort, Bali. My family stayed in the Pool Villa Seaview for X'mas holiday 2 years ago. The resort was located about 70 metres over the Indian Ocean with majestic views of the ocean and spectacular green forest. I loved the private swimming pool! Relaxing and peaceful place to visit! Good people and nice food!!!!!

Thank you for sharing your trip in summer with us. I have seen a sunset with a rainbow-colored sky in Australia like your's too. The trip must have been A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! 👍👑👍👑👍👑👍👑👍👑
I searched it up on the Internet and found out that swimming pool you mentioned is Bondi Iceberg Swimming Pool. I've never seen it although I've been in Australia. I wish I could see it. It must've been freezing cold in the pool.
The crystal clear water wasn't at all exaggeration. I've been to a beach myself, and I'm telling you, I could see the rock that was underwater. I had never seen anything like it. 😎😎😎😎😎😎
All in all, you are so-o-o-o-o-o-o lucky to go to a rubbish-ridden beach where you can see through the water. I hope you enjoyed your trip.

If I'm not wronged, this pool is in Sydney, Australia. It's one of the most famous pools in Australia and it uses real sea water. From what I've seen in the photos, it looks like true paradise! It's sad that the beaches in Hong Kong are usually trashed with rubbish. Aside from the gorgeous view though, doesn't building a pool beside the sea kind of defeat the purpose?

Thank you for sharing the awesome journey you've had this summer with us! I'm sure it was great there! Just staring at these terrific pictures you've taken (Wow! You have some mad photography skills!), I feel so envious already! The smooth beach, the gold sand, the stunning sunset, it looks like something I would dream about! And don't get me started on the sea, the shade of blue it has, glistening under the sun, it's magnificent! Plus, I can't believe that there's close to no (or maybe even none) rubbish or trash littering the beach and sea! That just amazes me! To answer your question, I believe that this beach/pool is located in Sydney Australia, called Bondi Beach. Oh, how I wish that I could visit this spectacular beach one day!

Also, the sunset in Picture 2 is absolutely terrific! You can see how the orange blends into the yellow, into blue, into indigo and finally the horizon.Plus, there were no buildings obstructing the view, so I can see from where you were standing straight to the horizon.About your last question,I assume this wonderful beach is in Sydney,Australia. You are so lucky to be there!Oh,I hope I could go to this amazing paradise one day!

Thanks Dr Lee for sharing your sun and beach holidays with us. I think the beaches and the sunsets are really picturesque. I would like to go there next time. In reply for your questions, I think the black matters in the pool is a black swimsuit or something like swim caps at the bottom, so I think it is safe and clean for you to swim. For your last question, I think the pool and the beach is in Sydney, Australia, but I cannot name the exact location.

I am sure you took the photos by yourself. With those sort of views, even a guy bad at photography can take amazing photos! I am so jealous write now. Running on the smooth and golden sand, swimming in the crystal clear ocean...... It must have been a absolutely gorgeous trip there. Australians must love to keep the environment clean, do they? Answering to your question, this a place located in Australia/Sydney named Bondi Beach. Oh how I wished that I was there!

HI, Dr Lee, I hope that you enjoyed your trip! To answer your questions, it is the Bondi beach, located in Sydney, Australia. As for the black mysterious object, I think it might be a clump of rubbish/pollutants...How ironic it is to see that the vast sea, made by nature, is crystal clear, yet the swimming pool, a human creation, is polluted by humans, the builder of the pool. NOTICE: swimming in the pool is not advised!
Here, I would like to praise not only the Australians, but also all the tourists who visited that beach. IN Hong Kong, I doubt you can find a single beach which does not have any rubbish.
Anyway, I enjoyed your photos very much, There are beautiful. However I think the lack of people in all three photos is eerie. No tourist would not visit that lovely, rubbish-less beach.
Which other tourist attractions did you visit? I hope you had a wonderful trip! See you!

It's a bit strange for us people living in Hong Kong that there was no trash on the beach.I mean, you would think that there would be some trash, even if it was left by tourists.Evidently, the people living in Hong Kong have remarkably bad morals standards.

Also, did you have any of the oysters in Australia?I hear they are delectable.

Hi,Dr Lee. I’m very grateful that we can still see such unpolluted beaches and the people in Australia have good public morality.
I think that Hong Kong people need to learn from them. Everybody in the world don’t want going beautiful sandy beaches become a doom tour. P.S. I actually think that the black thing in the right-down corner is a baby whale. I download the photo and discovered that the black thing looks like a whale tale but it is very tiny. The picture is very blurry so I’m not sure that is my judgment correct or not.
