[15 Feb 2019] Our School Headmistress Mrs Lam extended her warm surprise as she visited Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) on the third day of our tour for the P.5 participants.

Today is a very special day - 15 February is the Singapore's Total Defence Day. It is a day to remind  the people of Singapore of their fall to the Japanese during WWII and that the country needs a united spirit and stronger protection against different challenges.

Both Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) and Fairfield Methodist Primary School had special assemblies for the event and they demonstrated perfectly to our boys what citizenship, national identity and the love to one's country are all about. This added so much value to their trip on top of what they have learnt from the different lessons offered by the two esteemed schools these two days.

In the afternoon we went to the Science Centre, which was again a very highly rated spot among our boys. Who wouldn't love science when it's learnt in such a fun and interactive way?

It is said that "Learning is at its best when it is deadly serious and very playful at the same time". I think we have been doing just that these couple of days in Singapore.

Let's look forward to tomorrow's drama workshop and the very highly anticipated Gardens by the Bay!

To be continued...

The Singapore students were very nice to us in the school, and also the science centre was very fun and memorable too!

Just as Alfred said, the Singapore students were friendly to us all. Before we even thought of playing a football match, they asked us to join them without hesitation. In the end, we lost four to five, but it was a worthy game as that improved our friendship. Also, we had some lessons with that. At first, i had trouble understanding what they were learning, but with my buddy's patience help, I soon caught up with the Singapore students and participated enthusiastically.
In the afternoon, we went a science museum. Compared with Hong Kong's science museum, Singapore's one looks larger and the things inside was much more interesting, which included illusions, geological facts, future science and more. There, I learnt a lot of informational facts that can't be learnt in school lessons and tried a lot of experiments that can not be tried at home. That day was by far the most interesting day in the trip.

The science centre was like heaven to me. The plasma ball in front of the mirror maze caught my attention the most .
Also , Ryan , we won 5-4!!!!!

The science centre was indeed very fun and I had a very satifying time there. My most memorable experience was at the mirror maze. I could determine whether it was a mirror or air! I also learned a lot about total defence day, of how we should unite our nation and cooperate together.
The card game was also pretty educational and filled with joy, and I remember that the time when I won the game! I was so happy!

The science museum was totally my favourite way point. The mirror maze was confusing and we tried the typhoon and earthquake simulator! It was amazing! It was also fun at school as it is total defence
day. We played card games and watch a performance! It was all very new to us. So it did enhance my own knowledge.
I also play badminton with the Singapore kids. They were all very skilled in badminton. The students there are all very kind.

I can’t believe that Mrs.Lam came to ACS! Everyone was shocked when they saw her. “Wow!” “How did she come?” was the others’ comments. There was also a assembly about Total Defence Day.
The science museum was also very fun! We played a lot there.

The science museum in Singapore was out of my expectation. The exhibits there were attracting and meaningful. I’ve learnt a lot there. Besides, the idea of the exhibitions are very creative. Therefore, I like the science museum very much.
