P.6 Singapore Study Tour 2018: Day 4

At Fairfield Methodist Primary School with their wonderful student ambassadors
School experience is the main reason this trip was organised in the first place. The 9 rich hours we spent in Fairfield Methodist Primary School today has easily proven that this tour is extremely worthy.

The day was full of human touch...Principal Mdm Law gave us a warm welcome, Fairfield's student ambassadors were as helpful as could be, our boys played sports with their new foreign friends, the school treated us wonderful snacks and lunch, Fairfield's staff was friendly and willing to share, students greeted us nicely when we met them anywhere...every one of us felt this strong passion of hospitality in Fairfield.

Furthermore, the level of green in Fairfield was amazing. Their gardens and green houses were professionally organised and taken care of. The interaction and balance of human and nature was well maintained. While our boys were stunned by the opportunities to touch toads and caterpillars, I was in awe by the Singaporeans' green policy. They really put words into action.

The most touching moment of the day, however, came from the evening when Timothy, who had to leave our tour due to an illness, was invited down at the lobby to receive a gift from his peers. I'm not sure how much he had missed in this tour, I just know that he earns something very valuable which none of his peers was offered to this extent. Happy for you and get well soon Tim!

The last day of the tour, which is tomorrow, will continue to amaze us - I have this feeling.

My son Chun Wing was stunned by the level of green in Fieldfield. He also felt very fruitful and enjoyable in different school activities. I am also surprised (via a photo sent by Dr Lee) how brave he grabbed a toad in his hand, haha

This day we had to wake up very early and go to the school, but it all went well I liked their ambassidors and their ways of teaching it was very fun to mingle with the other students.

What I was impressed by this school was their green facilities. They've got a Chinese Garden which planted Chinese plants ,an Indian Garden which planted Indian plants and a Malay Garden which planted Malay plants.Do you know what are these gardens for? They are mainly for their students to relax and play in the garden. However ,some of the plants will be provide to the canteen to cook meals!

In recces ,students are allowed to bring their own balls to play with their friends. We totally enjoyed the time playing football with Fairfield students!

The ceromatics part was very fun,we made our starfish figure within two hours,I am looking forward to taking back my starfish figure(as they have to help us burn it)at May!

The students in the school were very warm-hearted.After the experience,II realized that our school can learn from their school, such as greeting our guests with a friendly snack, organizing a sport competition, ect.

A horrible experience about touching toads and caterpillars...... I am going to throw up when I touch them, and even see them!
The green policy of Fairfield Methodist Primary School is very useful, and therefore, I think that some schools should learn from it. To protect the environment, we should all make an effort! Fairfield Methodist Primary School has given us a great example though. Yet, we don't have a big place to build green houses, Ha Ha......
Have you recovered,Timothy?

What a great trip for you all,and I see that all of you enjoyed your time in those museums as I want to go there as well.Although I have been there for a few times,I think that I was a tourist, not an explorer.I was only play there with my family but not learning anything.I really appreciate that you could learn things there.
I looked at the student's comments and I found that the Fairfield Methodist Primary School had a lot of great activities and you all enjoyed a lot!The theatre looks big and I think that's a great learning environment.
What a great tour for you all and I hope I can learn something if can go to SIngapore next time.
