PTA x Vice Principal Ms Jenny Ho — An Interview

9/16/2023

(16 Sept) Vice Principal Ms Jenny Ho had a wonderful chat with Mr Chow of our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). The conversation was also filmed at our train carriage. This shortened version is for your early enjoyment while the full version is to be released by the PTA soon.

Now boys, after viewing this video, please try to answer AT LEAST ONE of the following questions:

1. What can you learn from Ms Ho? Why is that important?
2. What other questions would you have asked if you were the interviewer? Why would you like to ask these questions?
3. Ms Ho mentioned about cross-curricular learning. Now, what cross-curricular activities (involving more than 1 subject knowledge) would you like YWPS to hold this year?

Happy watching!

I think it's equally important as I'm the vice principle and at the same time an English teacher. I have different tasks and missions for different roles =)

Thank you, Rustin! This is a very good question! I think time management is critical. Not only for me but also for my little girl. She plans her after school schedule carefully so that she can complete all her tasks before mummy goes home. We treasure the time with each other and we often spend quality time together!

P.S. Our family members are all very supportive =)

From this interview, I have learnt that having passion and be persistent is important in achieving the goal.

If I were the interviewer, I would ask Ms Ho, “ After being promoted to the Vice Principal, you would have less time to teach. How would you feel about that?”

Regarding the cross curricular activity, I would recommend the school to organise activities that teaches at time management and how to prioritise tasks.

Alan, you can always come up with critical questions! Let me answer your questions here:

Yes, being the vice-principal, I have less time to teach as I'm only teaching one class instead of two. However, I have the opportunity to work more on the curriculum. I would like to create a more integrated curriculum so as to enhance students' learning. I would also like to plan more cross-curricular programmes so as to facilitate students in deepening the understanding and applying what they have learnt in different subjects. =)

2. I would have asked Ms. Ho why she picked up her new job as the Vice Principal of Ying Wa Primary School since she is such a successful and amazing person!

3.If I would recommend a cross-curricular activity for this year in Ying Wa, I think that the school could arrange an activity related to Mr. Timely , which is about teachers teaching us how to arrange time in the most efficent way.

1) I can learn from Ms. Jenny that when I aim for it and go for it, I will make my dreams come true one day! It is very important to set our goal and keep on our passion, try our best to achieve it...make it real.

2) I'd love to ask about how to make a good balance between working and family. It is because I know Ms Jenny has a lovely daughter, she is a mom as well.

3) I'd suggest English x Music. For example, lyrics re-write competition or English singing competition. I think it will have so much fun.
