I’d like to thank Miss Fung for teaching us the Reader - Night at the Museum - in detail. She piqued my interest in the story, and deepened my understanding of the story and the characters, which greatly contributed to my performance.

I would also like to thank Dr Gary Harfitt for giving me comments. In the future, I will take the suggestions to enhance my public speaking skills.

Last but not least, I’d like to thank my classmates for voting for me. Without their support, I would not have achieved such a good result.
Hopefully, we will be able to have a Speech Gala onstage next year, and enjoy the spirit of the Speech Gala together.

Firstly, I would like to thank Dr Gary Harfitt for giving me comments. I was very surprised when I heard my name being announced as the champion. Thank you for giving me constructive feedback and I will try my best to improve.

Next, I would like to thank my family members. They helped me film my performance and gave me some advice on how to make my performance better.

I really enjoyed this year's 'Speech Gala Online'. It was a very exciting and unforgettable experience. I hope I can participate in next year's Speech Gala face to face!

I remember from my primary school days that the Speech Gala was a remarkable annual event. As I recall, the most nerve-wracking part was the announcement of the results - everyone would seem to stop breathing and the tension would be palpable. But behind those awards would be hours of practicing and rehearsing, trying to make the best out of the performances. Well, through this event, it's obvious that hard work pays off, and many congratulations to the winners of this year's (online) Speech Gala! Even during the COVID pandemic, the event had been run quite smoothly online (at least for my brother - he was a participant in the P.2 category), and I truly hope that next year's Gala can be held face-to-face, and hopefully all participants can fully enjoy the excitement of the Speech Gala!

I’m very honoured to be able to win the champion of public speaking in my final year in the Speech Gala of Ying Wa.
Firstly, I would like to thank my teacher, Dr Lee, for selecting me, even though the other classmates also did very well because our class, 6D, has many capable students; otherwise, I would not even have the chance to participate in this competition.
I would thank Dr Lee for his in-person lessons and the other English teachers for the online videos and lessons about making a good speech. They have helped me tremendously in preparing the speech.
My gratitude also goes to the judge Dr Gary Harfitt for giving thoughtful comments on the other participants and me. He has shed lights on how we can improve. His appreciation has encouraged me a lot.
Finally, I sincerely thank all the schoolmates who voted for me; even though I didn’t win the popularity award, I am still ecstatic that I was very close to the winner, only 1% away.
I am very grateful for the fact that I can leave a footprint in the English Department. It’s really an honour

Hi, I'm Aden Su. I have participated in the speech gala and enjoyed it for my six years in Ying Wa. I really want to thank my schoolmates for voting for me and winning me the popularity award. It made me feel a lot better about only receiving merit.

I am also thankful to Dr Gary Harfitt for telling me how I can improve my speaking.

I thank Dr Lee for encouraging me throughout this contest and giving me this opportunity. I thank Mr Lee for giving me comments on my first draft. I appreciate all the English Department's effort in hosting the speech festival despite the pandemic.

Next year, I will be in college, but I will continue trying to improve my speaking skills. Thank you.

It is a huge honor for me to receive the award for being the Speech Gala champion of this year, even though I have won twice previously, this award always means a lot to me.

First of all, I would like to recognize the immense hard work of the other finalists, they were all great contenders to me. It was a first ever online Speech Gala to all of us, believe me, we all have to face several challenges before we could come to the final stage of the competition.

Also, I am earnestly grateful for the recognition by Dr Gary Harfitt, as well as his valuable comments. That would really help to enhance my performance in the future. And I would like to thank you all English teachers have chosen me to be one of the finalists.

Winning this award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my parents. I have derived the strength to challenge myself and perform better at various circumstances throughout the hard work indeed.

Finally, I sincerely thank for everyone who has voted and liked my performance.
