"To Be Continued..." Opens up an Intriguing Adventure

(10 Oct) Another very interesting and fruitful year of learning for YWPS boys starts with an adventure story "To Be Continued..." which is also the title of this year's YWPS Diverse Learning Experience.

The story comes out chapter by chapter, and so far, the "Introduction" and "Chapter One" have been released through the "big book" at the main entrance, live broadcast at assemblies and the Google Classroom. And you may revisit them here:
Picture
"To Be Continued..." — Introduction
Picture
"To Be Continued..." — Chapter One
Picture
Every clip ends with a dice-throwing act giving "hints" for the next part of the story. Some of these hints are also hidden in secret corners of in our school campus! Have you noticed them?

For the next chapter, the hints are: C-shaped, Palace, Ancient Time, Mistrusted Person, Water, and Beach of Hazard.
Now, boys, to further activate your curious minds, here are some important questions for you:
1) What are some of the "messages" of the story so far? Can you explain them with support from the content of the story?
2) What would happen in the next chapter or future chapters? Imaginative suggestions are welcomed. We may end up using some of your ideas! Make the story yours!

Enjoy the adventure of Bong, Hinson and Chi-yin and we will discuss further soon!

To be continued...

First Question : This chapter told us not to give up easily even if you are disabled, just like Chi-Yin. He needed to sit on his wheelchair for his entire life, but he tried fencing. He didn’t give up and enjoyed sports.

I think that the messages of the chapter one are about not to argue with our friends, same as Bong & Hinson. Also,we should work together in order to make teamwork.

We shouldn’t always argue with each other or we might mess something up because they were arguing about who’s going to keep the sacred items and they might make mistakes later in the story.

1. The messages of the story so far is we should never argue and be brave . It is because the three heroes are the only ones who are brave enough to defeat Gauwa in the beginning. In the first chapter, Hinson and Bong are arguing so he tried to take away the portal and the guard of foil.

I think the story is about three heroic children, who need to defeat the monster Gauwa, and the writer wants them to have teamwork,( Bong and Hinson were arguing constantly in the story, and the writer wants them to change the nemesis relationship.) 6C 23 Samuel Wong

Q2.I guess the next chapter, the three heroes will travel to Egypt. In ancient times, some people were building a pyramid beside the beach of hazard.Inside it was a palace. Then, they saw a mistrusted boy who was carrying buckets of water. Suddenly, he found a c-shaped treasure. The heroes thought that this treasure was a sacred item so they said to the boy that the treasure was theirs’. At last, they found out that this c-shaped treasure was actually a sacred item.

Q.2
I think there will be a quarrel between Hinson and Bong, and Bong will not use the hula hoops to go and find the sacred items. Chi Ying and the robot will try to stop the quarrel , but in the process, they will accidentally fall in the portal to the wrong dimension.

I suggest that on chapter 2, only Bong jumped into the portal. Hinson and Chi-Yin will be left at the stadium. They may find another way to get to the place where the sacred item is.

2 question: I believe that the next chapter of the story would be that after Bong, Chi-Yin and Hinson broke up, Bong would be teleported to the Qin Dynasty by himself and he met the Qin Emperor. But no one believed the Qin Emperor’s words and therefore Bong told him to try and change his way of doing things. After so, the Qin Emperor gave Bong a staff. But then Bong realised that he should change as well and the portal ring opened again and brought him back to his other friends.

1.The story will start with the mistrusted person talking to Bong, telling him Hinson and Chi-yin have gone to a Chinese palace in the ancient time already. Then, the man would hit Bong and brought him to the Beach of Hazard which was filled with water with the portal. After that, he would take away the portal and laugh at Bong was so stupid. Also, he told Bong Guawa had five monsters below him, and he is of them.

Suddenly, he thought of his other friends and stuttered whether he should help Cao Cao or not.

Maybe the story could go like this :

The portal them went to Ancient Egypt and found a palace. The emperor greeted them warmly but the over— cautious Bong thought that this was the mistrusted person in the clues. So Bong went angrily while Chi - Yin and Hinson happily accepted the emperor’s invite. It turned out that the emperor was quite nice. He told them that this was the Beach of Hazard, and legend had it that there was an holy item that was related to a guard of foil. When Chi - Yin and Hinson told him about their quest, the emperor lead them to a spot in the crop fields. He said that this was the place where the item laid. Hinson took a shovel and started digging. Soon , they found the C shaped object— a scythe used for crops. The robot’s screen said : “ This is the second sacred item. Please take care of it.” There was only one problem. Bong had ran away.

Is it too much?

Q1 I think the “message“ of the story is co-ordination and team work is important as the three: Bong, Hinson and Chi-yin need to co-operate to finish the quest of defeating Gauwa.

Q2 They arrived in a palace in ancient China/Egypt, which there is a mistrusted person guiding them to a dangerous beach. Then, they found a C-shaped metal in the water.

They got the first sacred item so far, but one of the climaxes is that Bong got angry at their teammates. We should not argue with our friends. If we have a problem, we need to keep working and we can’t give up.

In most stories, there is a happy ending. So I’m guessing that Bong, Chi-yin and Hinson will reunite and find the next sacred item soon. I expect them going an ancient timed palace on a beach which is hazardous, which is C shaped. Maybe the person who runs the palace will be a mistrusted person. Who knows? To me, I’m sticking with a happy ending, and the next chapter they will find the second sacred item.

1) I think the first message of the story so far is not to get angry with other people and do something which is not beneficial to the task. As we can see at the end of chapter one, Bong walked away as he could not keep the first sacred item, but then they would not be able to get the portal, and that would make the task more difficult to handle.
2) I think Bong would not come back, and would go to ancient China at night, and the C-shaped object would be a moon. The Emperor in the Palace would be the mistrusted person, maybe because he would have drunk some wine, like what ancient Chinese people always do. There would be a beach outside the Palace, though maybe there would be dragons there, and water would be the sea, which can be seen in the Palace. This would be a good environment for the Emperor, and I guess the Emperor may be able to make the dragon to sleep. Then, Hinson and Chi-yin would go to the same place, ready to find Bong, and they might be able to defeat the dragons using the foil.

1st question : I think the message is that teamwork is very important, because if Bong doesn’t let others use the hula loops, all the heroes will fail.

2nd question : I think that Bong was possessed by Gauwa because he won’t let the other two use the portal and he wanted to take the foil guard. I think Bong will eventually let the others and him use the portal because he doesn’t want others to find out he is possessed by Gauwa.
Their next station is ancient Egypt. They have palaces in ancient times ,
heroes need to find water, the ruler of Egypt is the mistrusted person , Egypt itself is the Hazard beach and the C shaped thing is one of those Egypt treasures owned by the Egypt emperor.

1. I think that we should have more and we should not argue among ourselves. In the introduction, the boys were given items to defeat Guawa, however, the items will only be efficient if the boys work together, thus teaching us teamwork. In the end of chpater 1, they argued who would keep the treasure. I don’t think we should argue with someone because of a problem this little.
2.I think that the boys will land in a dessert like island with a pyramid. Bong would soon separate from the group and explore the pyramid with another person who is secretly evil. The three boys will then meet up in a place where they encounter some sort of miniboss and together, they will fight it and Bong would learn that he should not argue with his friends again.

Q2) As Bong goes into the portal alone, he ends up in front of a gigantic palace. He walks into the palace and disguises himself as a guard to gain access to the more secret floors. There, he meets the palace's owner- a man with a golden eye. The man, knowing that Bong is not a guard, falsely welcomes him and leads him to a trap-showing him his true identity-a seven headed dragon and drags him to a beach with many corpses. Just as the dragon was about to incernirate Bong, Hinson and Chi-yin arrive with the robot. The robot puts the dragon into a trance, and the robot drowns inself, revealing a golden C-Shaped blade-a relic of Gauwa. The gave it to the robot, who melted it a scatter the Dark Gold around the beach, reducing Gauwa's power and strength- making it easier to defeat the monster.

Ans2:
I think Gauwa intruded the palace of the Han Dynasty and the friend came up to it and fought with it. Gauwa shot a fireball at the palace and retreated. The emperor tried to rescue the fire but there’s not enough water to rescue the fire. The friends went to the Beach of Hazzard and met an old man. The old man asked why they’re here, they told the old man the things happened at the palace. The old man laughed and said he could give them water, but when they walked beside the sea, the old man suddenly grabbed all of them into different cells underground. The old man came to the friends and said, “Hahahaha!! Now the emperor will finally die!!! Thank you all for killing him!!! Hahaha!” When the old man left, Hinson suddenly whispered, “I have brought a clip, I’ll open the door.” Hinson opened the cells and they ran to the old man’s house. They randomly took a c-shaped bucket and ran to the sea. They quickly filled the bucket with water and ran back to the palace as fast as light. Luckily, the water was just enough for rescuing the fire, the emperor thanked them and gave them the second sacred item: A Sword Handle.

I love this story very much because it is attractive and interesting, the best thing I think was the subtitle. It has a chinese version to understand what the english was saying.

1. I think the friends are going to arrive at the ancient c shaped palace and ask the people there where the sacred item is, then they're going to head over to the beach of hazard and find the mistrusted person, and this person hands over the second sacred item.
2. I think the moral of the story is to tell us that we alone cannot achieve many things, but if we have other people to help us, for example our friends, then we can defeat any obstacle.

Ans for Q2:
I think that the three heroes would go to Cancún, Mexico. It is because beaches in there may be very dangerous as huge waves in there can kill people (two websites said that), and some beaches' coastline is like a letter "C". Also, there is an ancient palace in that city, right?
If the destination was really a beach, they might face huge waves which wanted to swallow the heroes. They would be facing a big problem in this case-- they needed to be extremely careful that they wouldn't been swallowed by the huge waves while finding the second item.
However, if they went to a palace, they would be driven away or even killed. Or, they would be treated as an alien because their clothing were not the same as the ancient people.

First question:I think it tells us to not give up although you have disablilities. Chi-Yin for example, sits on a wheelchair yet still he enjoys fencing and sports.
Second question: I believe its somewhere near a beach or a palace. They ask a man in a palace for the directions to where the sacred item is and they go to a beach with enormous waves.

The message of this story is that we should never argue, we must be courageous. If they quarrel, they could quarrel and fail the mission.

I think they will reconcile soon, continue to complete the task and kill Gauwa.

I think that Bong would jump into the portal leaving Chi-yin and Hinton behind. Then, Bong would be sent to the beach of hazard in Ancient Greek being attacked by Gauwa. The sacred item is holy water or maybe some gold items.

P.S. I think that the old wise man is gauwa’s Subordinate.

1. I learnt to never lose hope. The wheelchair fencer Franco had lost his legs in a fire, but he didn’t give up on his life. In fact, I believe that he has lived an even more fantastic and wonderful life since then. I also learnt to never quarrel on small and unimportant things because Hinson quarrelled with Bong about the foil guard and the team split apart. I even learnt that teamwork is the key to success because without Bong, they wouldn’t be able to teleport, without Chi-Yin they would lose direction, and without Hinson they would be spinning in circles.

I imagine that there will be a medieval castle carved into a mountain wall which has a C shaped moat filled with poisonous water around the stony monstrosity. Then, some random innocent person is blamed for stealing. So, he gets thrown off the sand covered moat bank to pay for crimes he didn’t do. So the three heroes pop out and save the guy.
